Q: Is there anything wrong with buying replacement parts for an older BMW 3 series at Autozone, etc?
I have been using autozones parts on my toyota and they are pretty good. they’re not expensive and do the job.
I am looking at older BMW 3 series (e36) and some people say that replacement parts are expensive.
is it bad to use autozone parts or something? they’re not expensive. they have parts for pretty much every car in america.
A: There is nothing wrong with that. They have some service-related parts such as oil and air filters, and even brake rotors and pads. But they do not have too many parts available, and you would probably find online parts retailers such as bavauto.com a lot more cost effective than most places.
Q: Why does a Used BMW 3 series cost more than a Saab 9-3?
I have found that in general a Used BMW 3 series costs way more than a used Saab 9-3 Aero. Why is this when the Saab and BMW are equal cars?
A: They aren’t equal cars. The BMW is a better car and also costs more.
Q: How much does it cost to ship a BMW series 3 328i?
Hi there,
Im thinking about buying a BMW series 3 328i from ebaymotors.com
I would like to know how much it costs to ship that car from Bridgewater, Massachusetts to Vancouver, BC, Canada? Aswell as how much would it cost to get it over customs.
Thank you very much!
A: Well, nearly $3000 involving the shipping and custom charges to ship the BMW to a desired location.
Q: how many miles per tank can I go on BMW 3 series? new one?
How many miles per tank can I go on BMW 3 series? new one?
A: I have a BMW 07 328i sedan with a manual transmission. The computer says I average 28 mpg (it can fluctuate by how you drive). My car has a 16.1 gallon fuel tank. That adds up to 450 miles per tank. You can use 89 rated gasoline (as low as 87 is permitted with a 328/330 model) and save a couple of dollars at the pump. Premium is recommended but I don’t see a difference in the performance of my car by using premium gasoline.
Q: Why do people buy BMW 3 series when Acura & Nissan are equal yet less $?
Is this just people that want to buy a BMW to feel good about themselves?
Status symbol of bmw which has lost its lust from before..
I mean Acura & Nissan Altima are comparable to a BMW 3 series..
What is the point of spending more?
A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carquotes.sinfree.net
Q: Can a 2005 BMW 3 Series pull a seadoo 20′ Challenger?
I am thinking about buying a Seadoo 20′ Challenger, and I only have a 2005 BMW 3 Series. Can i pull that boat without any issues?
A: No. The 3 series was not designed nor intended for such use. The most I would consider if I absolutely needed to tow something with my 3 series would be a small motorcycle or a jet ski. Even then I wouldn’t feel comfortable doing so and especially not a boat of your size. My recommendation would be to buy/borrow a cheap light truck or suv to take on the job.
Q: Who thinks the 2009 BMW 1 Series is better then the 2009 BMW 3 Series Coupe?
The 3 series coupe is no doubt more expensive but the 1 series has the same horse power. Which car do you like better and why?
A: The 3 series is superior by far. The 1 series interior looks and feels cheap, and the car is only a couple hundred pounds lighter. Plus the 1 series isn’t available with the fixed central information display. It uses that crappy design borrowed from the X3 and Z4 with the plastic gears that always break. Spend the extra few grand and get a hell of a lot nicer car – the 3 series.
Q: What is a better buy among Nissan Altima Coupe, Infiniti G37, and the BMW 3 series coupe?
Altima Coupe
G37
3 series Coupe
Feel free to give suggestions and also feel free to point out pros and cons
Thank you.
A: All three are good cars.
The Nissan Altima looks great, has good performance (3.5L engine), and is a great value for your money.
The Infiniti G37 is a better performer at 330hp, looks even better, at a higher price but still a good value — actually the best value of the three cars.
The BMW 335i coupe is also a great looking car, is a great performer at 300hp, but is overpriced and not a good value compared to the G37. Reliability is also lower than the other two cars. Maintenance costs and insurance costs are also higher.
Q: What bmw 3 series should i buy?
I’m looking for a used bmw 3 series sedan that’s not to expensive for around $4,000 – $8,000. I want to fix it up with performance parts to make it faster and look good. With this said I want some opinions on what the best year and trim to put my money on please help me out.
A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.yoll.net
Q: What year did the BMW 3-series change body style?
I’ve been looking into pre-owned 3-series coupes, and I really like the new body style. Did they change in ‘05, ‘06…?
Also, I’m somewhat unsure of the differences between different 3-series models…
AJ – your a tool. What’s asinine is typing so much, and saying so little.
Janette – thanks for the info.
A: 2005 is when the body style changed and the difference in models is engine size,
325i : is 2.5 liter straight six
328,2.8 liter 330, 3.3 liter ect.
335i has the biggest motor in the 3 series class beside the M3
The 335i has a twin turbo straight six
Q: Can a 2003 BMW 3 series be made to look like a 2008 BMW 3 series?
I have a low mileage 2003 BMW 325xi, but really like the look of the 2008 BMW 328i. Short of buying a new one…. Does anyone know of any body kits out there that can change the look of the 2003 325xi, to look like a 2008 BMW 328i? Most of the body kits seemed to be for an M3. Does anyone know if a kit exists?
A: Never heard of such, even though I agree with you. Have you driven one of the new E90s? E90 is the body style of the 3 series since 2006 which includes the model u mentioned.. Although they still handle quite well, the ride is much smoother than the E36 (your current body style.)
Q: Are all 2007, 2008 BMW 3 series standard with run flat tires? Can the dealer put on non-run flats on a lease?
I have heard terrible things about the run flats…high replacement cost, need for early replacement. I currently have a 05 3 series, lease ending in April and want conventional tires. Are all newer 3 series run flat standard? Will the dealer take them off and put conventional tires on for me for a lease vehicle?
A: BMW switch from non-run flats to run flats on every new bmw car recently. true the avg cost for four new run flats can cost an avg. $2,000. Run flats have 1/2 the lifespan of regular tires and cost 4x more. but what you get in return is safety, value, and luxury for your money. you can also take the $2,000 and buy after market rims and tires for the same price and have them install on the BMW. BMW means luxury and value and thats what sets BMW apart from other cars. good luck
Q: why are BMW 3 series with low profile tyres as M3 so useless to drive in the present weather conditions?
i have driven rear wheel drive cars for many years mainly Fords and had very few problems but the 3 series coupe that i have now is an embarrassment to quote Jeremy Clarkson to drive a 3 series in present conditions you need to be wearing a nappy
A: BMW’s are Bavarian (southern Germany), so take a leaf out of the Bavarians’ books.
There most people have two sets of wheels if they have a car with low profile tyres:
1 set of smart alloys with normal low profile tyres
and
1 set of smaller-diameter steel wheels with narrower, higher profile winter tyres on (the narrower width allows room for snow chains).
When it snows, switch to the winter tyres (designed to grip at lower temperatures) and you’ll be fine. You’ll also avoid salt damage to your lovely smart alloys.
Q: Impossible Question: What do a FORD Maverick and a BMW 3-Series have in common, that 98% of cars DO NOT have?
I cannot figure this out: What SIGNIFICANT thing do a FORD Maverick and a BMW 3-Series have in common, that 98% of cars DON’T have???
PLEASE HELP!!!
A: With base engines, model years 1970-77 of the Maverick and E21 models of the 3-series met emissions standard without a catalytic converter.
Other than that, I have no idea.
Q: how do i use blue tooth in my bmw 3 series?
I have a bmw 3 series touring 3 years old it has buttons on the steering wheel for phone use and what looks like something to do with a phone in the rear, but i dont know how it works….. any help would be good
cheers
A: The 2005 3-series are not equiped with bluetooth, you must go to your local dealer and have them put a plug in for your phone.
