Q: Does the Ford Edge SEL Plus have the same leather seats as in the Ford Edge Limited?
Looking at the Ford Edge. I remember the seats of the SEL to be very firm. Are the seats on the limited the exact same or do you get a more cushier seat?

A: The leather is the same no matter what trim level. Only the seating surfaces are real leather The skirts and the far back of the seats are plastic.

Q: How to sync a phone in a Ford Edge 2008…?
Does anyone know how I can make my phone like hands free? I don’t have software or anything…

I heard you need something called SYNC but is there anyway I can connect my phone without it??

A: SYNC is a Ford-installed exclusive product and wasn’t available until late 2008 on the Edge.
(^ in the USA)

There is an aftermarket kit available here in the USA, but it’s quite expensive ($800ish) and requires Professional installation.
You could just buy a hands free blue-tooth earpiece for a lot less money.

Q: Does anyone know how to pair my Samsung Rogue phone with my new 2011 Ford Edge?
I have tried all the traditional methods, including resetting my phone (lost my contacts even). Nothing is working, nor can the Ford techs at my dealership figure it out. It is not listed as an incompatible phone with Sync.

Q: How much should a car payment be for a 2009 Ford Edge if you have good credit?
Also, is it normal to have the price tag say 23,000 and then the bottom line be 27,000 after interest?

A: If you have good credit you should be able to get a loan around 5%. Since we don’t know anything about the car we can’t put a value on it but a used Ford Edge should cost around $20k (more or less depending on options, condition and mileage)

Is it normal to pay $4000 in finance charges. YES.

But so what!!, nobody looks at the final pay off price anyway. Chances are you’ll sell the car before it’s completely paid off anyway so the “after interest” price is irrelevant. What you need to be concerned with is the actual cost of the vehicle (did I pay too much?) the loan terms (did I get a good interest rate?) and the length of the loan (am I paying for too long?).

You should also be concerned with the actual loan amount. The amount of money borrowed from the bank. The car was $23K, how much was the loan amount? How much money did you actually borrow from the bank? The finance charges (your “after interest” price) is nothing more than the fees you pay for borrowing the money from the bank and are not included in the actual loan amount.

I’m about to change car and Ford refuses to answer which car is the safest – Ford Explorer or Ford Edge.

As we know, Ford Explorer has a really lousy track record. Easily rolls over, poor performance if driven into from the back and quite a large car which makes the car more accident prone. What about the Edge – it weights less, but has better crash test results. Anyone have any interesting insights?

A: The Edge handles better than the truck-based Explorer while offering almost as much cargo space. Benefiting from all-wheel drive and a fully independent suspension, it’s easier to control than a truck-based SUV in the snow or on wet, slippery roads. Also, getting in and out of both the front and back seats is easier. In fact, the back seats in the Edge are roomier than those in the Explorer, a benefit of its design.

Q: How do you adjust the headlights on a 2008 Ford Edge?
I took it to the dealer and of course like all dealers, you get the “everything is fine, we can’t find anything wrong”. Well I disagree. When the headlights shine on my garage wall the driver side beam is definitely lower than the passenger side. I can also tell where each beam ends when driving. So like most things, if you want it done and done right you have to do it yourself. So please tell be how to adjust them. Thanks.

A: There are adjustment screws on the top and one side. Look carefully at the rim around the headlights. You will see the screws. The ones that go through the rim are for mounting. The others are for adjustment.

Q: Is the new Ford Edge or new Toyota 4runner a good family car?

A: Honestly, i know somebody with a each one of those cars and the 4Runner is by far the best.

Q: Can you fit an adult between 2 carseats in the rear seat of the Ford Edge?
I appreciate any experience from someone who owns one and has tried it. I know it will be a tight fit, but is it as narrow as a hyundai elantra? An adult can only fit in the elantra if they sit sideways. (this is what I currenty own). Thanks for any advice!

Q: 2008 Ford Edge will not start?
My wife has a 2008 Ford Edge, she tried to start it this morning and it would not start. Everything is completely dead, none of the interior lights work at all and her keyless entry remote isn’t working. There is a red anti-theft light flashing on the dashboard, though.. Sounds like the battery is dead, but we have no idea how this could have happened. Could it be something else ?

A: there are many many things even the smallest things can drain the battery. the trick i always do is leaving the boot not closed properly and the boot light drains the battery. My partner is a mechanic and he said this can happen from time to time and if it continues take ur battery to be tested as it may be on its way out,but he doubts its anything else.
