Q: How come my Honda Accord won’t start or go into gear after a collision?
A drunk driver hit my car while it was parked. The collision only messed up the rear bumper and the trunk, but the car won’t start or even go into neutral. I have to move the car because it is parked under a carport that was badly damaged that now looks like it could collapse onto the roof of my car. I have a ‘99 Honda Accord EX. Is there some sort of reset switch I have to toggle?
A: if your car has an automatic transmission maybe it’s possible there was damage to the steering column that is not allowing the keyswitch to turn all the way, because the key has to be in the run position to come out of park. Or perhaps it is possible it is a combination of things depending on how bad the impact was maybe the transmission was moved sliightly and through off the neutral safety switch therefore not allowing the car to start, and I have also heard of the pin that locks a transmission in park breaking off inside the transmission, and you can not move the shifter, but I have never actually seen it happen.
Other than that, I don’t know because manual transmissions usually shift no matter what.
I am not sure what year your car is, but on my old 88 Accord there was a key hole next to the shifter, and if you put a key into it it would allow you to push the button on the shifter to make it come out of park reguardless of what position the key switch on the column is in. It will work even if something has drained the battery. I think there is something simaler on newer hondas too, usually a switch or a cap near the shifter that you either have to push forward or pry out and jam a screw driver or something in it. If the battery is dead for what ever reason the switch on the brake pedal will not release the shift lock mechanism on the shifter.
Q: Is it possible to install day time running lights in a 2003-2004 Honda Accord Sedan?
I would love to be able to install day time running lights in a 2003 or 2004 Honda Accord that I am going to purchase. Is that possible? Thanks!
This Accord will be staying in the United States, I like the looks of having daytime running lights on my car. With these kits that you have to install such as in Canada, what does it look like with an after factory install? Where can you position the DRL in the headlight?
A: go the canadian tire they sell an aftermarkt module for 24.99 and very to install you are prob getting a canadian inspection done right? at canadian tire they install it for 124.99 but do it your self

I am thinking about buying a used honda accord. But it seems like everybody has been driving this reliable car more than 200.000 miles….I can only spend $ 6-8 thousand on it and looking to buy a reliable car. I really like accord from the year 2000 not older.

Q: How much does it cost to get black interior installed in my 92 Honda Accord.?
I just bought the 92 Honda Accord and the whole car needs new interior including the interior on the door pannels and the trunk. I would like to know a good price to have this done.
A: You have two options. One. Find another interior in a parts car or at a wrecker/breaker and swap it out. A complete interior from a Pick A Part type wrecker will run you $500 – $1000 while a regular wrecker/breaker will run double that. You may be able to find a complete parts car for considerably less in your local Buy Sell or Craigslist.
The other option is to dye what you have. Both Color Plus and Leatherique (search online) have products available to redye your interior.
Either choice is pretty labour intensive and time consuming.

Q: How much does it cost to fix the shift linkage in a 1992 Honda Accord?
My 1992 Honda Accord needs the shift linkage fixed. A friend said it shouldn’t cost too much, so I was just wondering if anyone out there knew around how much it should cost. I’m really tight on money and desperately need my car back and I’m not looking to scammed by anyone. So I want to know about how much it should cost before I go around looking for a mechanic.
A: On a 92 Accord its not bad at all…labor shouldn’t be too much, but the parts could run about 100 dollars or so worse case, depending on exactly where the problem is…it could be something as simple as a 50 cent pint that came out. ( Happened to me on my VW Passat)
If I had to guess at a worst case cost…$170

2000 honda accord factory alarm goes off at random times for no reason. Need to figure out how to fix the problem. Dealer says there is nothing they can do. Really need to fix the issue since nothing else is wrong with the car.
A: Your factory alarm sensitivity is just set too high. You can turn it down and eliminate the problem while still keeping the alarm.

Q: What should I do to make my Honda Accord better?
What can I get to help the acceleration on a ‘95 Honda Accord? What can I do to get it to move up steap roads easier? Or just waht can I do overall to make the car better. Keep in mind, I don’t want the gas mileage which is at about 33 miles per gallon to go down. Thanks.
A: Spark Plugs, Plug Wires, ecm chip, K&N air filter/induction, Tornado Fuel Saver, Ignition components, transmission fluid change BY A PROFESSIONAL, synthetic blend oil, fuel filter, ect…
There are MANY things you can do to a honda to get the best performance and gas mileage out of them. I had a 97 Accord that got 34mpg and after i did many of those replacements and repairs i got about 36mpg roughly and it pepped the car up a bit.
Q: How do I replace or repair keys for a 2004 Honda Accord?
I bought a used 2004 honda accord, and discovered one of the keys I received does not work (either the remote open/close or manually). I really want at least one spare key, if not more, for my husband and an “emergency” key. What are my solutions, for repair or replacement, because I hear getting a new key from the dealership is rather expensive.
A: Some key are code in a way they can not made out side the dealership. You will need the ID of the vehicle. From this they can make key’s up. It cost a bit for those type keys.
Howener, if you have a single sided key it can be copy at any place that has the blank for it.
The other area is a locksmith. They cost a lot.
The top two are the best answer.
Q: What is a good color green to paint a 1991 honda accord?
I have a 1991 honda accord and i want to paint it a green color but dont know what kind. i plan on putting rims and making it a raceing car.
A: Go to a paint supply house and look at the zillion (if thats a word) or so swatches. The car is yours and its your money – you should decide what color of green goes on it. Only you have to be “satisfied” with the color.
I would say “chartreuse” is a nice color but not on my car.
Okay – I’m kidding about “chartreuse” but how about “sage”????
Q: How do I remove the Pioneer head unit from my Honda Accord?
I need to install a Pioneer CD-RB10 auxiliary adapter into a Pioneer DEH-P250 head unit. I drive a 95 Honda Accord 4dr Sedan, my question is, where would I find instructions on how to remove the head unit in order to get to the back of it? Does it just depend on the way the deck is installed in the dash?
A: usually you can just slide it off with some force
but first:
1. Make the gear go down to first if automatic.
so the radio can freely exit
2. with some force pull it at the angle that it looks like it wont break etc..
3. unplug the wires from the back remember where teh go(to unplug make sure to do it straight so u won’t damage anything
4. there u go,, plug everything in and your done..
ohh i suggest you run the other end of wire of the auxilary input to the glove compartment..if u dont have a setup done already..
this might help!!!
http://www.installdr.com/InstallDocs/Honda/PDF/466037.pdf
usually wont have to take off panels because it will just slide out!!!
Q: 1991 Honda Accord speedometer and odometer not working?
I have a 1991 Honda Accord LS. The speedometer and odometer keep on going on and off. They could work for miles and then suddenly stop working for miles. The Green Sports light is flashing on the dashboard. Can someone help me.
A: Uh no it runs from the transmission in through the firewall and into the gauge cluster you can go to a junk yard and pick up one for 15-20 bucks you might want to check and see if it did come loose from the trans if it didn’t go to the junkyard and get a little practice taking one off another car not yours that way when you go to take yours apart you will know where the screws are and you don’t break any thing
