Q: Dodge Challenger?
Is Nash Bridges’ car a Challenger?

What do you like ‘Cuda or Challenger
(the classic, of course)

A: It is a 1970 Hemi Cuda replica of a very rare ‘cuda.

This particular version of the Barracuda is one of the Holy Grails of Muscle Car collectors. The “1 of 14″ could be a reference to the convertible paired with the 426 engine. The 426 Drag Hemi is supposedly capable of 425 horsepower at 5,000 rpm, with 0-60 in 5.7 seconds – muscular indeed. The Official NB Site notes that it’s a 426 Hemi engine with twin Carter AFB four-barrels. ‘Cuda aficionados have already noted that the front grill of the car used in NASH BRIDGES in indicative of a 1971 ‘Cuda because of the quad headlights, not a 1970 ‘Cuda as the show states. In an appearance on the TONIGHT SHOW Don Johnson corrected this by noting the difference in the four headlights instead of two, but that the car was still a 1970 ‘Cuda.

Q: Does cloning my 1972 Dodge Challenger into a 1970 Dodge Challenger RT devalue it or increase the value?
I am just wondering, I am not big on cloning cars, but my favorite car is the 1970 Dodge Challenger RT, and would love to make my car into that, but I would not want to do that, if it devalues my car, can anyone help?

A: it will hurt the value of it a lot,the 72 was also a much desired car just like the 70 was,so its worth as much like it is,if it were me id just do some minor modifications to is such as emblems and decals and not do any body change at all to it,id just as soon have a 72 as 70 model, besides that the cars that are the most valuable are the well documented cars with original paper work,so doing this is only going to hurt it if you ever decided to sell it,and their was nothing wrong with the way the 72 looked, good luck.

Q: What do you guys think about the Dodge Challenger?
I’m really considering to get one even if they say the Camaro is better, I’m gonna get the RT 6 speed. I just want some advice first, thank you.

A: If you’re into straight-line speed, the Challenger is amazing. However, my friend has an R/T and the handling is ghastly. The Camaro and Mustang handle better, and the Camaro SS is slightly faster, but I love Mopar and I feel the Challenger is a good car and will hold up.

Q: is it expensive to get a 72 dodge challenger painted flat black?
?

A: depending if you block it down and then primer then block it again until you have found the high and low places in the body as it being 72 it is not most likely in perfect shape and if it is ,I would paint it the original color getting code off of the vin #

Q: What is the song in the 2010 Dodge Challenger commercial?
the one where England and the US are about to battle and george washington drives up in the car.

A: The music was written especially for this commercial by Jay Ungar, who wrote “Ashokan Farewell” for the PBS mini series, The Civil War.

Though it’s possible that he has it on one of his CDs. Check here — http://www.jayandmolly.com/prodrecs.shtml

Q: How much would it cost to have a fully loaded Dodge Challenger to have these specs?
V12 Engine (Converted from V8)
Orange body paint
20″ Orange rims in the front and 22″s in the back, orange.
Maybe some NOS (Probably won’t happen, but a man gotta dream)

A: I could make that happen for about $250,000.00
That includes the price of the base car.
You’re right, a mans gotta dream!!!

: )

Q: Im looking for a 1983 DODGE Challenger in Ontario Canada. Dose anyone know where i could pick one up?
I used to have one and i really miss that little car! I would like to fine another one.
Yes they did. They were made by Mitsubishi for Dodge. They were a small car with Mitsubishi’s 2.6L in it.

A: you was right they did make an 83 model challenger ,they only made the full size ones of those for four years,1970-1974,. EDIT i stand corrected they did make one,i just hadn’t seen one in so long that i totally forgot about those cars, hope you find one because i doubt there’s many around left of those cars,i remember those now but its been years since i have seen one of them around, you was right, good luck.

Q: Where can I get a 1970 Dodge Challenger from the movie Death Proof?
Are they hard to come by?

A: you can actually buy one of those cars for about 30-50 thousand depending on the engine option it has in it right now,the prices of them is coming way down real fast, even some collectors are dumping their collection of them on the market, type it in and you,ll come up with several of them for sale right now, good luck.

Q: What was Detroit’s reason for producing the retro Mustang and Dodge Challenger?
( I do like the Mustang. It does take me back, but Detroit usually has more than nostalgia on its mind when it does something like this? Yes. Money, of course. But did they believe that going retro would be more financial productive than the new, sleeker jelly-bean designs? Well, I guess so. But what was their ‘official’ answer? Has it worked out?

A: Dont forget to add the Camero to the list and the Charger that came out around the same time as the retro Mustangs although for some stupid reason they made it a 4 door. At least they finally fixed that with the Challenger. There was also the short lived T bird. You also cant leave out the Mini Cooper and the VW beetle. The Beetle was the first ‘new old’ car. They captured the basic style of the original but it was still a modern car. They sold a ton of em. I think the rest saw that and figured they could do the same and from the looks of things are selling well. If you had ever driven any of the originals they were all total crap in every category except for style when compared to modern cars (even low end basic models). All of those cars were the lowest in the model line ups and often ordered without many options if the even had options. That is one reason they were so popular, they were inexpensive. In most cases you could buy the same basic car but much nicer but no one remembers those. There were Mercury Cougars that were similar to the Mustangs but much higher end and much more expensive. Same story with Plymouth and Pontiac. I dont know what Cooper or VW offered at the times but I would guess they both had nicer cars available also. Just wait for the 57 Chevy’s and 59 Cadillacs to come out. How about a 34 Ford?

Q: Is it a good or bad decision for a single mom to get a 2009 Dodge Challenger with a 1yr old and a 2yr old?
I am trying to see if I should get another sports car or a regular Sedan. I have two small kids and I personally would not mind having a sports car because it’s just going to be the three of us. I just need opinions.

A: I have had a sporty coupe and car seats, it is a pain in the butt. Between the clumsiness of getting kids and car seats out of the back seat of a coupe and the lower than sedan space, this is probably a bad idea. If you like Dodge’s, the Charger is mechanically identical (except somewhat longer) and the interior is mostly the same too, but it has a lot more space and four doors. Definitely sportier looking than most large sedans.

Q: How much is a Dodge Challenger Concept going for?
And where can you buy it from? CONCEPTS FTW.

A: The only concept car dodge challenger you can buy is the Maisto scale model.

Q: What is Better the Dodge Challenger 09 or the Chevrolet Comaro 09?
Okay I am only 13 but my mom wants to buy one of these two cars for herself, and she said once I am old enough to drive she will give the car to me, and she will take the 69 Mustang she has been storing. She does not know which one to buy.

A: The Chevrolet is much better..

Q: In a 2010 Dodge Challenger what is an automatic with manual override?
Is it hard to do because I am a little nervous about driving it because I have never driven a manual in my life!

A: All it means is that you can slide the shift lever into a certain position (usually marked with + and -) and instead of the transmission shifting when it normally does, it shifts when you tell it to (by tapping it towards the + or – to upshift and downshift). It’s nowhere near a real manual, and designed to be as simple as humanly possible, so you really shouldn’t be worried.

Q: What is the minimum credit score I need to get my dream car? A 2009 Dodge Challenger?
Obviously I know the higher the better. I have one huge negative on my credit. A voluntary repo on my wifes car after she passed away that lowered my credit score to 598. Any chance on financing or should I just wait a few years?

A: My suggestion would be to start putting $450 per month (estimated payment on a low end Challenger) in a money market savings account specifically designated as a car fund. In 2.5 years you will have saved enough to buy a used, low mileage Challenger and saved yourself about $10,000 in depreciation in the process.

Q: how to talk my parents into getting me a dodge challenger?
i really want one and i think i might have them considering it i’m 18 if that matters
how much will insurance be?

A: insurance on a challenger runs around 2-300 a month and that’s a lot of money,as for talking them in to getting you one, you,ll have to be really convincing to them that you wont be out trying to race it or get in trouble with it,i didn’t get one until i was old enough to buy it an even then the insurance was bad enough along with car payments,be nice and have good grades and hope for the best, when i asked for a new barracuda back in 69,i got a 65 mustang instead, good luck.

Q: Is a 2004 Audi A4 good to drive a distance of 200 miles once a week?
I drive to a different city once a week, about 160 miles away. I got a 2004 Audi A4, runs perfectly fine, 58,000 miles on it, just want to make sure nothing typically happens?

A: Great car to handle the distance – reliable, comfortable, decent mileage. I’ve had multiple Audis over the years, you’ll be fine.

Q: How do you adjust the steering wheel on a 2007 Audi A4?
I just got a 2007 Audi A4 yesterday. I am having trouble adjusting the steering wheel, despite having read through most of the owner’s manual. The problem is that in the book it pictures the wheel with a column coming out that it does not have on my model. It says there is a button on it for adjusting the wheel. I don’t know where else to look.

So, How do you adjust the steering wheel on a 2007 Audi A4? Thanks!

A: if you reach down below the column right behind the wheel there is a lever you pull down adjust and lock back into place. I didn’t know this either until one day i was bored at a stop light and noticed a lever under there i pulled it hoping the car wouldn’t explode, and whataya know the wheel adjusted.

Q: How to remove front bumper from an Audi A4 B5?
I need an explanation on how to remove the front bumper off the Audi a4 b5 in steps, and are there any tools (not including regular tools) that I may need?

Thanks.

A: Got this from an Audiworld DIY article, Ive used one from that site for my b5 s4 and its basically the same thing really… when you actually get to taking off the bumper its kind of a bitch… haha, you gotta pull hard bot be careful not to break shit and look for those clips in step 5

“1. Remove the plastic underpan; 6 screws underneath and 2 plastic screws in each wheel well.

2. Remove two small grills and fog lights (if applicable) on front bumper; the grills come out just by pulling.

3. Disconnect the hose to the headlight washers by reaching through the hole where you removed the driver’s side grill; it disconnects at the lightened area of the picture below. If you can’t reach it, see step 6. Washer Fluid will SPLASH out, so catch it in a bucket in case you want to reuse that

4. Remove the two long 6mm hex bolts (see above picture).

5. Now grab the side of the bumper, almost to the wheel well and pull BACK (towards the rear of the car) and DOWN then UP. It takes a little finesse, but it’s really not that hard. Have someone else hold the bumper while you do this so it doesn’t come crashing down and scratch the paint. See the picture below, notice how the two clips at the top and one at the bottom grab the bumper like a claw. So if you pull it down, and then up (or vise versa), then you should be able to work it loose. “

Q: Why do new license plate number lights not work on a 2005 Audi A4?
I have a 2005 Audi A4 sendan. The computer keeps beeping with a warning that the license plate lights are not working. I have replaced both bulbs but I continue to get the error and the lights will not come on. What can be the problem?

PS I don’t have a users manual so I can’t even check the fuses but would the license plate lights even be on a separate circuit?

A: Just the license plate lights .. They are probably on the same fuse as the tail lights, so make sure those are working. If the tail lights are okay, then it’s something right in the license plate light socket, like the socket itself, or the plug where the lights plug into the wiring harness

Q: How do you remove the front of an Audi A4 Diesel 2003 to get at the Timing Belt?
Audi A4 Diesel, 2003, I need to get at the timing belt, Thanks.

A: best thing to do is to get a book, read it then make the repair. It is not that time consuming all you got to do is start the repair likely 6 hours to repair. Good luck, be sure the timing marks are corect aligned or it will cost you. Good luck and God bless you.

Q: How much would it cost to replace a turbo in a 2000 audi a4?
I am in Brookings south dakota and i need to know how much the dealer or a mechanic would charge to replace my turbo in my 2000 audi a4

A: money

Q: What front windscreen make does Audi A4 use?
My front windscreen today cracked due to the heat, probably predisposed due to a small crack i had overlooked.

Any ideas what make of windscreen does Audi use for A4 in particular?

Thanks in advance!

A: ive got an audi a4 but my windscreen is perfect there should be a bunch of numbers somewhere on the window and what you can do is call audi and ask for a replacement window and show them that number or just call autoglass and then can fix the crack in 5 minutes for FREE

Q: What is the difference between B7 S4/A4 audi besides speed?
im thinking about buying an audi 2006-2008 but i was wondering if there is any difference between the audi a4 s-line and the audi s4. i know the s4 is a v8 4.2L and the a4 comes 2.0T or 3.2l but is tehre any difference physically like exterior or interior? please let me know.

A: Yeah the S4 has a SLIGHTLY more agressive look with the grill, wheels, lowering and silver mirrors . It also has a siffer suspension, bigger sways, bigger and S-model wheels, and uprated brakes. Basically a sportier ride. The s-line is a gap between the A4 and the S4. There is also a Titanium A4 model.

http://www.autoblog.com/2006/02/10/audi-launches-a4-titanium-version/

http://www.autoblog.com/2006/03/31/2006-audi-s4-in-the-autoblog-garage-day-5/

Q: Do you think the Audi A4 the B8 model is better looking then ?
Does anybody think the new Audi A4 B8 is more better looking then the Mercedes C class and the BMW 3 series. I personally prefer the new Audi because it looks more better the headlights look agressive and the interior looks much better then its predisessor but what do you lot think?

A: Yes. I think All Audi A4’s looked better than the 3 series and class.

Q: hey guys what do u think is the better car a new Audi a4 or a Volkswagen Passat?
hey guys. i m buying a new car soon, its ether the new Audi a4 or a new Volkswagen Passat but i really can’t make my mind up over what 1 to get.
could u guys tell me what 1 you think looks the best and also explain why it is the better car to choose.
thanks and can i get more than 1 word answers please.

A: get the A4, yes the passat and A4 are similar in design, however, the A4 is more luxurious and in most cases sporty.
since this is in the audi section, be prepared to have alot of Audi answers. But seriously, consider this… there is a reason Audi costs alot more than VW. So go with the Audi, you will not be disappointed.

Q: Is there a way to disable the AC compressor on a 98 Audi A4?
Is there a fuse or something I can pull to disable the AC compressor on a 98 Audi A4 1.8T? The AC turns on whenever I use the ‘auto’ climate control or if I want to recirculate air in the cabin. I don’t want to be running the AC compressor all winter long.

A: the A/C IS the auto climate control just switch off the A/C with the A/C button and set whatever temperature you want, but it will not demist as well with the A/C off as this also dries the air

Q: Where can I download an owner’s manual for a 2001 audi a4 quattro?
Where can I download an owner’s manual for a 2001 audi a4 quattro?

It did not come with one. Well, my question is (if there is nowhere to download for free) how do you switch between low beams and high beams?

A: there should be two little arms on the left side of your steering coloum, one is to turn the headlights on (lowbeam) when u have the lowbeam on you can switch the highbeam on if u like . As for the manual , trying searching it on ebay .

Q: How to obtain a care title for a 1996 audi a4?
I have a audi a4 that i bought with no title from an impound yard. it had police release but no title. knowing i may not be able to obtain a title in order to register i didnt pay much. is there anyway i would be able to buy a title for this car

A: You’ll likely have to go to the DMV and ask for a “reconstructed” title or something similar.

Q: which is faster, a lincoln LS with a V6 or an Audi a4 with a 4 cylinder?
Two of my friends ara having a little dispute. One thinks that a lincoln LS with a V6 is faster than an audi a4 while the other thinks the exact opposite, the audi is faster then the lincoln. Which one is truly faster?

A: Two car uses different technology.

I think on a speed track Audi will out perform Lincoln.

Lincoln is an wide body long big car compare to Audi Q4.

Lincoln is designed for good smooth comfortable ride at the expanse of “High Performance”.

This is why it has bigger engine it weighs more, gives comfortable ride and is less noisy inside, more sound insulation.

LS stands for Luxury Sedan.

Q4 is a performance car it can be 4 wheel full time and Q4 has I believe, full four wheel steering capacity. This gives it more agility in small radius turns. Weight is the main thing here, it weighs less, so there is lot more spare power so it can go fast as needed, it does not top out.

Q stands for Quartro or Quart, it means 4. Q4, means 4-4 simply 4 wheel powered drive and 4 wheel steering.

Q: I have an 02 audi a4 v6. What is a good mod to make it as fast as possible?
I got an 02 audi a4 3.0 v6 quattro. I have an air intake on it but i want to make it as fast as i can(chip turbo supercharger etc.) i need advice. And also the engine tends to overheat after normally driving it for 15 mins. How do i fix that?
thanks but i couldnt find the stasis chip for my specific car? and which exhaust would be best?

A: go to MTM’s website

google that shit

Q: What advice can you give me on a Cadillac cts?
Ok, im planning on purchasing a 2003-2004 cadillac cts. What advice can you give me? is it a nice car? what are the pros and cons? and what do you think about it?

A: You have to buy her flowers and candy before she’ll hop into bed.

Q: where can i find a picture of a Cadillac CTS 2000 ?
i’ve been looking everywhere and i could only find 2003 and over.
i need a picture of a Cadillac CTS year 2000 pleaseee

A: That’s because there is no such thing as a 2000 CTS, 2003 was the first model year.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadillac_cts

In 2000, the Caddy that filled that spot for them was called the Catera, it was available from 97-01.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadillac_Catera

Q: Why is my 06 Cadillac CTS turning on when I lock the car?
I have an 06 CTS. I hit the lock button twice and close the door. Guess what? It turns on by itself. Why?

A: You must have some kind of remote starter installed. Thats great for winter!

Q: I have a cadillac cts and my security system has locked my car down. How can I bypass this?
I can get it started but it takes 3 10min. intervals of turning the key on waiting 10 min.. turning it off for 5 sec. I have to do this 3 times before it will start.

A: what year is it?

usually you can’t bypass the security system on these. they make it this way so a thief can’t bypass it to steal it. it’s probably just a passlock sensor. cheap fix, but only a gm dealer can do it because the module will need programed by their computer.

Q: Was the Cadillac cts’s handling tuned on the nurburgring?
I know the cts-V was tested and tuned on the nurburgring but what about the 6 cylinder versions?

A: I believe they were both tested there but dont expect the base CTS to handel like the V

Q: I have an 03 cadillac cts and the trunk will not stay closed, how can I fix it?
The trunk will not stay closed. I have searched everywhere to find the replacement part and can’t find it and I really, really don’t want to go back to the dealership and have to pay an arm and a leg to get it fixed. Does anyone know the correct terminology for the part and how much the part should cost?

A: Don’t go to the dealer. Sure call them and see that they’ll charge ya 3xs the amount of what it should be…I found the parts at ACDelco…(http://198.208.187.182/internet/VehiclePartDescription.jsp?application=Car%2FLight+Duty+Truck&year=2003&make=CADILLAC&model=CTS&engine=V6+3.2L+197cid+GAS+FI+N+Engine+VIN+%3D+N++++++&keyword=trunk)
AND I also found some hits on ebay:

http://motors.shop.ebay.com/_Car-Truck-Parts-Accessories__cadillac-cts-trunk_W0QQ_nkwZcadillacQ20ctsQ20trunkQQ_fxdZ1QQ_ptasZ1

Q: I have a 2006 cadillac cts without bose system, what are some good speakers to replace my factory speakers?
I have a Jensen VM9022 installed but now my factory speakers sound horrible. I wanted to ask more about the OZ brand component speakers and I was told to use a dual coil sub and a 4 channel amp. I am looking mainly for clear sound and clear bass nothing to rattle my car. Also I would like to put my 10″ in the place where the factory 10″ sub went at.

A: well they really isnt the best speakers out in the market if so there would just be one brand so it pretty much comes down to preference cuz some people have good experiances with some brands and others have really bad experiances with the same brand so it pretty much is up to you of course the best quality that a brand can offer will be more expensive so it really comes down into how much do you really want to spend right… some good brands that i can tell you of are alpine.jl audio. ma audio. polk audio.kicker, performance teknics, jbl, mtx,mb quartz, infinity, oz, diamond, and alot of others but if you want clear sound then just get component speakers in the front these come with a crossover so it pretty much seperates the lows, higs, and mids so your components dont distort as were the regular speakers would but if your going to upgrade your speakers i suggest you hook them up to a amp to get the best out of your speakers for example if you get 4 200 watts speakers and your stereo only gives out 50 watts to each speakers your obiously not getting the best out of them so you need a amp to give them the rest of the power that they need as for the sub you could upgrade the stock one but your still with the same dilema if you have a sub that handles more power then you need a amp that can supply that power good luck to you and i hope some of this was helpful to you

Q: Is it a good decision to buy 2005 Cadillac CTS with 102,000 miles?
Would it be smart to purchase a 2005 CTS that has 102,000 miles on it for $7000. I would be purchasing from a private seller. I’m not very familiar with Cadillacs and am also cautious about purchasing a car with over 100,000 miles but I also do not want to pass up a good deal. Thanks!

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carquotes.fateback.com

Q: Who is the manufacturer of the 2006 Cadillac CTS navigation system?
Just looking for more information on who built the navigation, what kind of hookups (inputs, camera, etc) are available on the stock system. Model # would be a bonus too!

–thanks!

A: The manufacture is Delphi electronics…the navigation systems are assembled in Mexico. Usually the stock includes..color screen, AM, FM Radio, 7 disc cd changer, ive also seen some that gives you up to date traffic information…the same model number fits all 2003-2007 Cadillac cts.

If you want a model number. GMX320-US

Q: what is the diffrence between the cadillac cts and sts?
and why is the cadillac sts so much more expensive?

A: The CTS is an entry level luxury car, is smaller and has a less powerful engine on all but the highest level of trim. The STS is now and has always been an upscale sporty vehicle with high end trim and preformance options. If you drive both you will know right away. Keep in mind too that if you go for the big engine CTS special edition, the price will actually top out above the STS.

Q: How much does it cost to install a sunroof in a cadillac CTS?
What would be cheaper.
To buy a GPS ($1,500) and get it installed or have a sunroof put in?
I don’t know the price it costs to have a GPS installed.
PLEASE help.

A: don’t get an aftermarket sunroof. they ALWAYS leak after a couple of years. most good shops i know won’t do them just for that reason

Q: What is better to buy a 2006 Cadillac CTS or a 2006 Lincoln LS?
The CTS has 41,900 miles and it costs 15,995 and the LS has 31,900 miles and it costs 14,994?

A: Lincoln replaced the LS because it was such a slow seller. And the average buyer age was 59.5 years old. It was supposed to attract a younger crowd to Lincoln. I guess the succeeded because the average buyer age for the Town Car is 67!

If you’re up in age, the LS will suit you. If you’re younger, the CTS is the car for you. The CTS will hold its resale value better. It’s more in demand. The LS, because it’s been discontinued, will fall much faster. When it’s time to sell the CTS, that won’t be a problem. But with the LS you’ll have to wait until you find someone old enough who wants it.

I don’t sell either one. But If I had to choose, it would be the CTS for sure.

Q: is the cadillac cts coupe really gonna be on sale or is it going to stay as a concept?
i was thinking of buying myself a cts but then i saw the coupe and i wanted it. just wanted to know if it is going to be on the market.

A: The CTS coupe should be coming out by 2010.

Q: How can I reactivate the GPS on my 2008 Cadillac CTS?
I accidentally pressed cancel (thinking I was cancelling the trip I was on) on the touch screen of the navigation system and my GPS guidance became inactivate. The maps still work and everything, but I can’t get directions or guidance any longer. I know it is probably a simple step or two, but I’ve yet to figure it out. Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks.

A: sounds like my ex wife I push the wrong botton and she woundn’t talk to me eather !

Q: Can I get the Cadillac CTS AWD in a manual transmission?
Recently I was looking for a new car to buy, American and AWD – but it must be a manual transmission. Does the CTS AWD come in a manual transmission?

Let me know! Peace and Lord Bless.

A: yea you can
heres a review of it:

For pictures email me at kormanmike@yahoo.com

Q: Do you recommend a Mini Cooper to a sixteen year old?
I’m 16 next April an was thinking about getting Mini Cooper. Which model you prefer? Pros and Cons?

A: I think it’s a great first car for a 16 year old. It’s sporty, cool, handles GREAT! and would be fun to drive.

If you can get an “S” model you’ll be even happier with the extra power.

Q: What brand is the Hifi system in a Mini Cooper?
So I’m not going to be getting a car for a while. But when I’m old enough and ready to get the car I want, it’s going to be a Mini Cooper. I was wondering though, what brand are the speakers used in the optional Hifi system, and how good does it sound? For an added bonus, compare the quality to that of good speaker brands such as Klipsch (but not Bose, if they’re comparable to the boxed in, highly unrealistic sound of the overpriced budget systems that they all are then I don’t want to spend the extra money)

A: The optional stereo is a Harmon-Kardon unit.

The stock stereo is pretty damned good though.

Q: To all mini cooper owners, why do you own them?
I am writing a paper about Mini Coopers and why its so popular. I, for one, own a light blue Mini cooper S. I like it because it is fun to drive and small in size but still perfect for me and my two little boys. How about you?

A: I love the looks and performance of the Mini Cooper S. Size is perfect for a couple and/or maybe 1-2 kids. It can fit and maneuver confidently in tight parking areas. It has just about perfect power for a small car for regular street drving. Its not a weak econobox for sure or a huge monster V8 where you can’t exactly use all that power on the street legally. That’s not to say that the Mini’s speed won’t get you into trouble if you’re not paying attention to the speedo, but its power just seems right for the road and not obnoxiously so like some other overpowered cars.

Q: What are repair costs on the MINI Cooper?
I am thinking about getting a 2004 MINI Cooper and was wondering about the costs of maintence and repairs on this vehicles compared to other such as dodge and ford vehicles. I was wondering about such things as transmission repair and other things that may go wrong with it. Thanks

A: close to the same prices, all high.

Q: How well does a 2001-2004 Mini Cooper run?
I really want a mini cooper. Preferably mellow yellow convertible. But in 2001-2004 what is the mpg? Is it a reliable car?

A: Fun cars. Get a Cooper S with manual trans. No automatics.Clutch jobs are expensive so be easy on the burn outs.

Q: How do I change bulb on Mini Cooper speedometer?
I have just purchased a 1994 John Cooper Mini, but the bulb appears to need changing on the speedometer (as it does not light up).
How do I do this? Do I have to remove the dashboard to get to it?

Many thanks

Sam

A: remove the cluster vesel only most of the times with a phillips screwdriver

Q: What is a good mini cooper shift knob replacement?
I am looking for a shift knob that will fit on the factory shifter of my 2004 mini cooper. most of the universal ones are out, because the shaft has a lip that wont let you push the knob down far enough and still get the ring that covers the screw holes up on. Any ideas?
I have looked at the whalen ones, my concern is that those conduct heat too well

A: Check here:

http://www.whalenshiftmachine.com/

Whalen has sold thousands of their shift knobs, and they don’t conduct heat any more than the stock knob. If you’re looking for a leather knob, Momo makes one, and they’re expensive.

Q: mini cooper?
I’m thinking of buying a mini cooper. I was wondering if anyone had purchased one, and if you had good or bad experiences with it. I also heard when you go to have it serviced, its automatically $3000. and you have to take them to mini dealers, that no one else will touch them. Thanks.

A: I just bought a pre-owned mini, and I love it. The gas mileage is sick, but you do have to fill up with premium which is a bit of a pain. When you purchase direct from a bmw/mini dealership, they toss in maintenance/service for free and its worth it. Some small independent places will also fix them, but you run the risk of voiding the warranty.

Q: Mini Cooper!!!!?
Anyone have a mini cooper? If so, what year, model, make, and do you like it, hate it and why? Looking for feedback!!!!!!

A: I have a 2006 Cooper S with the John Cooper Works package, or MCS-JCW for short. Green with a white top and hood stripes.

I LOVE IT!

Love the agility that allows me to avoid the soccer moms in their SUV’s and the ability to pass at will with the 207 Supercharged HP under the bonnet for the JCW.

The 2007 MCS has a turbocharger.

Bags of room inside for such a small car. I’m 6′7″ and fit fine. We never use the back seats for passengers, that’s not why we bought it.

Aside from great fun to drive, decent gas mileage, and real easy to get parking spaces, we also autocross in it.

Reliability has been good. There’s really nothing I hate about it, because it is exactly what I expected. Get to a dealer and do a test drive.

Go to North American Motoring and check the forums, all Mini info.

http://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/index.php

Mini owners are rabid about their cars, and there’s quite a legion of them out there in clubs and such. Annual events like AMVIV (A Mini Vacation in Vegas) or MOTD (Minis on the Dragon) are huge.

Go to http://www.miniusa.com/ and build your own Mini.

Q: Mini Cooper??
I want to get a new car and was thinking about getting a mini cooper?? What do you guys think? Pros and Cons?

A: Have you checked the price? I thought they were cute too until I saw the price. Lotta money for a little car.

Q: Mini Cooper?
What are the pros and cons of the mini cooper.

A: Pros:

Extremely safe, nimble car.
Outperforms trucks and SUVs in crash tests.
Economical (depending on your right foot habits).
Lots of room inside (I’m 6′7″, 280), more room in the Clubman version for cargo and people in the back seat.
Mondo-fun.

Cons:

No real room for passengers in the back seats unless it is a Clubman.

Q: Mini Cooper??
I want to get a new car and was thinking about getting a mini cooper?? What do you guys think? Pros and Cons?

A: I have a 2006 MCS-JCW (Mini Cooper S, John Cooper Works package). It’s been a great car, lots of fun. It’s everything I expected it to be, and I really haven’t had any issues with it.

They’re incredibly safe, as some thread in the website below will attest to.

For a lot of good discourse about Mini’s go here: http://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/index.php

Q: mini cooper?!?
i was looking in classifieds online and some guy is selling a mini cooper. says it is in perfect condition. it is a 2003, and the price is $2900. are mini coopers good cars.. do you think this is a good idea to buy a car this way- it would have to be shipped here from another state? hahaa i dont know much about cars but it seems like a good deal (?!). thanks!!
he says he is selling it so cheap cause he needs the money for his son who is in the hospital …

A: RED FLAG!!!!
$2900 for an ‘03 Mini? Ha! If the car even runs it would have sold in the first two minutes it hit the classifieds. Either a misprint or a flood-car…..

Q: mini cooper?!?
i love mini cooper cars! its like my dream car…they are so cute and tiny! but i was wondering from anyone who owns them..are they good reliable cars that get good gas mileage? and are they worth the price? any help is greatly appreciated!

A: mini coops are very reliable. they are very well made and are a BMW so they have BMW build quality. they get good gas mileage. the base mini cooper gets roughly 32/40. while the cooper s gets 26/33.

Q: can i straight pipe my 1997 gmc yukon, eliminating the cats without harming anything?
I got a 1997 gmc yukon. i live in the country so i dont need emissions and i wanna know if its safe to eliminate the cats without damaging anything.

A: why would you want to do that? Make it insanely loud? Yee-haw, i guess. It’s a ‘97 so it’s OBDII so that means it has a post O2 sensor which is located after the converter. This means if you take the converter off, the check engine light will stay on forever and set a P0420, catalyst performance below threshold. But hey, if you consider polluting your nice country air not damaging anything, knock yourself out.

Q: My uncle has a 1998 GMC Yukon the model GMT400 is it good on gas?
My uncle has a 1999 GMC Yukon is it good on gas?
it’s also equiped with a K&G cool air intake and 2 flowmaster pipes

A: If it has the 6.0 engine, figure 13/14
if it has the 5.7 engine, figure 15/16
if it has the 5.3 engine, figure 16/17

If it has more than 100,000 miles, you might see a drop of around 1 mpg on it.

It’s a great truck however, and very reliable.

Q: how do i reset the top speed on my 1993 gmc yukon?
i have a 1993 5.7L 350 v8 GMC Yukon with a 4L60e transmission. the governor or speed limiter engages at about 65 mph. that is simply ridiculous. i would like to know how to reset it to a higher speed. they do not make a chip or programmer for this vehicle, I’ve looked. any advice or information would help. thank you.

A: You’ll probably have to take it to a dealer and have them adjust the parameters in the ECM.

Q: Where do you run Amp Power Wire through firewall in 1999 GMC Yukon?
Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can run the amp power wire though the firewall in my 1999 GMC Yukon?
I’m using 4 gauge wire. Any suggestions of an existing spot where I can run the wire with out drilling a hole would be great.

Thanks

A: There should be a rubber grommet about the size of a silver dollar on either side of the fire wall looking under the hood. If you cannot see one, tap the firewall on both sides with a screwdriver or something metal and you should be able to hear and feel if something is in the way. Then use a step bit to drill the hole. If you are fairly new at doing this,it will help if someone is making the tapping noise for you under the hood so you can feel it on the other side. Make sure you are not near the master cylinder or you will drill through it and lose your brakes. Most of the time on the yukons there is plenty of room on the drivers side firewall above the foot pedals. Hope this helps.

Q: Are the GMC Yukon or Chevy Tahoe are they good suv from 1998-2002? I talking about this big one suv?
Are the GMC Yukon or Chevy Tahoe are they good suv from 1998-2002? I talking about this big one suv? Witch one are Durango or expedition or Yukon , Tahoe witch one have less breakdown? Witch one would you choose?

A: Make sure you check out the April issue of Consumer Reports. It gives detailed evaluations of the cars and also historical repair records. If you don’t subscribe, you can get it at most libraries.

Q: How to make a GMC Yukon faster?
So i just got a 2005 GMC Yukon 5.3L . It has zero problems, it just has the worst low end i have ever seen in Yukon. So my friends Yukon whenever he floors it, the tires scream a bit. But mine just takes a long time to accelerate but once the rpm goes past 3500-4500 it becomes normal. What is wrong with it?
and Whats The best modification i can add to it?
Best ECU
Manifolds
exhaust system
Spark plugs… anything that would make it faster?

A: Do a tune-up maybe..Some of these trucks have different gears for different jobs. Not sure but i think for that type of Suv they start at 3.23 for very light towing situations. 3.73 or 4.10 are usually better for towing and that might be the problem..your buddy has a better gears. If you’re really serious you can find out what gear ratio you have by the codes you have and look them up online. Changing the gears and you will notice a difference but also in gas mileage too.

Q: What area of mileage do GMC YUKON (Denali) engines go out at?
I might be getting a 2000 GMC YUKON Denali and i was wondering what was the range of mileage that repairs need to start taking place on it. Thanks.

A: Tune ups are every 100,000 miles–but oil and filters are listed in the book–oil and oil filter–every 3000 miles—air and gas filters is once a year. If you don’t do these routine services–the motor can go bad at anytime. It takes a lot of responsibility to own and operate a vehicle–if you don;’t have the money or the smarts to do it–then buy a junker and beat it till it dies. My 99 Suburban has almost 200,000 miles and runs fine because I maintain it monthly

Q: does a 2004 Gmc Yukon require premium fuel?
I am considering getting 2004 Gmc Yukon Denali 6.0 AWD and i was wondering if it requires premuim fuel.

A: No.

Q: Can a GMC yukon be coverted to run on E85?
Where i live regular gas prices are between $2.74 and $2.93. They seem to keep rising. The station i fill at has E85 pumps. The price is a very attractive $2.33, and they keep falling very month. I own a 1998 GMC Yukon, V8, 4wd. I use it for work, mostly on construction sites and way off road. It costs alot to fill it up. How can i convert it to run on E85 without taking it to a shop? Are there kits for sell? Do i go to the dealership??

A: There are no legal kits to convert an engine that has not been originally designed for E85 on the market. Sorry. There are kits, but they are NOT legal. And they are not cheap either – there are a variety of parts that need to be replaced in order to cope with the alcohol and extra oxygen from the blend of E85.

E85 is not the be all to end all either – its not very efficient, and requires well more to produce equal power.

If you are looking for less money out of your wallet, perhaps getting rid of the Yukon is a better idea. They aren’t known for fuel efficiency by any stretch.

Q: Should I trade with an acquaintance my 1999 Jeep Cherokee Laredo for his 1995 GMC Yukon GT?
An acquaintance of mine wants to trade our vehicles. I have a 1999 Jeep Cherokee Laredo; he has a 1995 GMC Yukon GT.

What are some things I should consider while I’m in the process of making a decision?

A: trade a 1999 for a 1995? NEVER

Q: Where is the fuel pump located on the GMC Yukon?
I don’t know where the fuel pump is located on the Yukon. Can you tell me where about it is located at? Thanks again.

A: probably inside the fuel tank

Q: What is the difference between a GMC YUKON and a CHEVY TAHOE?
I know that one is made by GMC and the other is made by Chevy (obviously!), but what are the other differences? They look pretty much the same to me…also, is one better than the other? Thanks!

A: Really no difference they our put together on the same assembly line. Gm has just always said that GMC is like the Cadillac of trucks etc.. There is really no difference though other than the name and maybe a few more options.

Q: 2002 GMC YUKON, What is the average life span of……?
Can any of you GM Techies tell me what is the average life span for the fuel pump in my 2002 GMC Yukon 5.3L Flex Fuel truck? I have approx 105,000 miles on it.

Also, if the truck cranks but will not fire up with the ignition key, and starts just fine with my remote start button, is it safe to assume that it’s the fuel pump relay? OR is it more of a deeper problem?

Thank you for your help!

A: Fuel pump life can vary greatly… It all depends on the quality of gas that you putting in, how often you change your fuel filters, how often do you run your tank low…. etc… its completely unpredictable in my opinion.

Cranking but not starting…. but starts with the remote-start… I am going to have to say its most likely a problem with the theft deterrent system. If it were a fuel pump relay it would just take longer to start as they are wired to have a back-up through the oil pressure switch in case that relay should fail. You can watch your cluster while using your key to see if the theft deterrent light is flashing while you are cranking. If its on and flashing, it won’t let your vehicle start.

In most instances i have found the issues to be with the remote start. They have an add-on security module that gets wired in to the factory security system to defeat it on remote starts. Something generally goes awry after a while and causes things not to work properly. I have seen more than one of these systems get pretty messy!

I would recommend you take it in to have it checked out… its amazing what they can tell by watching it operate with the proper tools

Q: Are there any Tips or Tricks on better fuel mileage on a 2004 GMC Yukon?
With the high gas prices, I want to try to get my 04 Yukon to get better gas mileage. Does anyone have any tips or tricks or add on suggestions? Thanks in advance!

A: the only thing i heard was just to try to never let it get on E… well duh i mean like once it hits half tank try your best everytime to fill it up then instead of waiting on it to go on E to fill it back up. i heard it on the news that, that way you get more gas stored!

Q: What is the difference between the GMC Yukon/Cadillac Escalade/Chevy Tahoe?
I am interested in those 3 and I know that GMC and Cadillac are a step-up from Chevy, but what are the real differences? They seem so similar… Is it worth it to pay the extra for the GMC or Cadillac? Thanks

A: If luxury technology/features is your priority then it’s definitely worth it to step up to a GMC Denali or Cadillac Escalade.

The basic powertrain is the same across the three, but it’s the interior materials/quality that changes with each. Also, GM’s Magnetic-Ride-Control technology is exclusive to the Cadillac Escalade.

And I guess if it’s important to you, there’s the prestige issue, Chevrolet is marketed towards middle-class families that want to do the cross country trip with the boat or trailer/construction workers, GMC Yukon Denali is marketed towards the upper middle-class family that mostly wants to stay close to home with the occasional long trip/professionals, Cadillac Escalade is for the upscale upper middle-class family that wants to haul the family around town, on trips, in style and total luxury/executive professionals.

I personally probably wouldn’t spend the extra money for a GMC Denali or Cadillac Escalade. I use my GM trucks for hauling people and gear for snow/camping trips, that sort of thing and the Chevy Tahoe/Suburban has enough tech/luxury for me. I’d rather have a Chevy Suburban for hauling and a Cadillac CTS-V for luxury.

Q: 1997 Mercedes Benz E Class?
I am trying to find out on the 1997 Mercedes Benz E class there 2 lights a red 1 and a green 1 what do they mean and what are they for?

A: Where are these lights? I can think of lots of red lights on the dash and on the tail lights but off the top of my head, I don’t recall any green lights anywhere on the W210 E-Class.

EDIT: I just realized you’re probably talking about the inside rearview mirror. Those lights are for the remote central locking. Flashing green is vehicle is unlocked, flashing red is locked.

Q: what would the insurance be on a 1989 Mercedes-Benz E-Class 300CE for an 18 year old male monthly?
clean driving record the car has 138,000 miles on it

A: It really depends on the company, they all have different criteria in determining their rates. Being young certainly makes it more expensive but having an older car makes it cheaper, how much is hard to say. They have to consider where you live and the value of your car, and sometimes even the driving records of the people you live with.

In my opinion the only real way to answer this question is that you need to get quotes from several providers using similar options with the same limits, auto make, location, etc so that all things are accurate for your comparison.

I used this site when I was looking for insurance and it saved me a lot of time. You can get cheap insurance from premium providers. Just enter your zip and select from providers for quotes. This is the link. http://www.combinedautoinsurance.com/

Take some time to get several quotes and play around with different options and you will have a very accurate idea of what to expect.

Q: 2010 Mercedes Benz E-Class Wagon?
Does anyone know if Mercedes will bring a wagon state side since they updated the body style for 2010?

A: The answer is YES!!! It looks beautiful here is a link http://www.motorauthority.com/spy-shots-2010-mercedes-benz-e-class-estate-wagon.html
If you are considering the wagon consider the R-Class too its a cheaper car but drives great! Though most dealers right now are desperate to move the 2009 E-Classes that’s why some dealers give a $15,000 discount!

Q: does the 98 Mercedes-benz E-class have 4wd?
on that model what does the 4 stand for?
no I’m talkin 4 on the gear shifter!

A: Standard is rear wheel drive but starting in ‘98, 4Matic ( all wheel drive ) was made as an option on the E-Class.

It’s easy to tell the difference between the two just by looking at the VIN no. It will start with WDBJF ( or the “F” will be a “H” if this is a station wagon ) and then 2 numbers. If the first two numbers are “65″, it’s a rear wheel drive. If it’s “82″, it a 4Matic.

Q: difference between C class and E class in Mercedes benz cars.?

A: c-class is more sportier, e-class is more of a sedan
e-class is a bit roomier than c-class
c-class is a bit smaller/lower than e-class
they both use the same range of engines

Q: Spiritually speaking, will the Mercedes-Benz E-Class make it ok to drive drunk?
“Awaken its driver if he begins to doze”
“Keep him in his lane if he starts to wander”
“Even stop itself if he becomes distracted”
It seems like the perfect car to drive drunk. What are your thoughts on this? Does this make it ok to drive drunk?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjfzHY5-2sM

A: nothing makes it ok……

spiritually speaking drunk drivers should be shot…

lexus can’t even get something as simple as a floor mat to work properly…

Q: Any opinions on the upcoming 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-class?

A: I look forward to their diesel technology. The present E class diesel seems to be the best diesel car on the market yet. However, I feel they are a tad overpriced. They should be at least 5-8K less in cost.

Q: 08 Mercedes benz E class ?
this vehicle come out with the new engine E300-4MATIC is this engine going to replace the E280 or it’s a totally new engine

A: it’s the same.

Q: Lexus GS350 or Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

A: I love Mercedes E300

Mercedes ALL THE WAY!!

Q: Can anyone tell me the song that’s in the Mercedes Benz E Class ad that’s playing in Australia?
It’s the ad where the little boy buries a model car and waters it with a watering can. I can’t find the name of the song anywhere.

A: couldn’t find it…sorry, but i put a link for you….maybe someone else could figure it out

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTS1tIYmz70&feature=related

Q: Mercedes-Benz E-Class BHP?
hey there, we bought a new merc, but we don’t know how much bhp it’s got. it’s got a 6 cylinder engine and it’s a 3.0 litre diesel engine. (by the way it’s an E280 from 2005)

please help… i wanna show off to all my mates!

THANKS

A: you meant it’s 2.8 litre..E280 = E class, engine size 2.8

it’s 190 Bhp.

Q: are 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class 5.0L good cars?

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carquotes.fateback.com

Q: 1986 mercedes benz 300 e class gas motor will not run unless i put gas in the throttle ?
when putting fuel in the throttle body it only runs breifly. ok i would like to no where the fuel pump relay is located and next where is the fuel pump located

A: Cars in the mid 80s and older dont run off of Ethanol that they put into gas now a days try getting gas at somewhere that dosent add ethanol to the gas or even try finding a place that has no ethanol in the gas. Ethanol damages fuel systems in older cars, they cant take it its to thin. Ethanol burns faster to and it dosnt produce as much power as regular gasoline.

Q: i have an e class 430,1999 mercedes benz,can i put 20s or 22s rims on it?

A: Any reputable seller will give you an honst answer or what fits.

I don’t care what anyone tells you, there’s a very limited gain by changing tire size in handling — assuming it spec’d for it (II.e.) OEM option s include wheel size. They handle better as a rule with manufacturer specks.

Benz is cranky about that.

But dpending on where you live and the condition of the roads, you’re going to put whels on a car that are inclined to tear tires and rims apart. The rims are expense. The tires are outrageous.

The tires for my MB107 are about half the cost of my accura Sedan. Nothing more frustrating than to have to replace a rim and all four tires because of uneven wear and a pothole colliding.

Q: What do you think of buying mercedes E class Wagon 1999 with an odometer of 113000 mi by $11000 ?
http://autos.yahoo.com/used-cars/mercedes_benz-e_class-pictures-cars321116530;_ylt=Aq7Mu5y.JKJAavwsEM_TOHfTbY54;_ylv=3?keywords=white&bodystyle=wagon&sortcol=price&sortdir=up&modelyearlb=1997&askpriceub=any&askpricelb=any&deliverymileageub=any&deliverymileagelb=25000&listingtype=used&model=e_class&make=mercedes_benz&distance=any&picstart=1

A: overpriced by THOUSANDS – I used the calculater on Edmunds, in CT that car would have a dealer value of $7400

don’t even consider this car at this price

because i am planning to take c class 250cdi by this end of december.
if there is any facelift made in germany how long it wil take to release that facelifted model in india(chennai)?

A: i m not sure but might be in last month of 2011 or in june july of 2012

Q: What car should I buy a brand new 2010 mazdaspeed 3 or a new 2010 c class Mercedes Benz c180 and why?
I’m am still 24 years old and single. Will be using it daily to work.

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carquotes.fateback.com

Q: What type of steering does the Mercedes-Benz 1994-2000 C-class (w202)?
I’m considering shopping for a w202 c-class benz, while I’ve found a bunch of specs for the car, I’d like to know if the car utilizes a rack and pinon for steering, or if it is recirculating ball. Yes I know they have power steering, but that is not the question.

A: The W202 still uses a recirculating ball steering system. The next generation C-Class, the W203, went to a rack n’ pinion system.

Q: C Class Mercedes Benz or 3 series BMW?
Hi, I live in Canada,, I would like to buy car either c class benz or 3 series bmw? I am female, i still don’t know which one of them? i really love the c class series. but bmw is not that bad. which one is good at gas and price ?
I am considering buying C 230 4 matic, about bmw i have no idea > probably smaller one
please provide me an useful information?
Thanks

A: My family has owned both Mercedes and BMW.

I prefer BMW hands down.

BMW’s drive better, handle corners better & are more fun to drive than Mercedes (besides the AMG ones) and I’m more attracted to Bimmer’s. I never liked the Mercedes – it feels like its choking and very stiff.

I can’t tell you much about gas for the two … but if price is a concern for you – don’t go with either car. Both are expensive when it comes to maintenance.

Bimmer’s easily live 300,000 + with proper maintenance, they’re a heritage car and an independent automaker. They make the best engines and I prefer them more than any other car in the world.

Q: Audi a4 2.0 tdi vs Mercedes benz c class 250 cdi avantgarde india?
audi a4 vs Mercedes benz c class 250 cdi avantgarde.
i am planninig to take any one of the car.
beased on all grounds can any one help me to opt the best car?

A: Mercedes of course . . . it is more reliable.

Q: is the 2006 mercedes benz c class c230 a reliable car?
i have a 2007 honda cr-v and im thinking about trading it in for a 2006 mercedes benz c230.
i have had no problems with my honda and just want to make sure that i wont be spending a lot of money down the road on repairs.
the mercedes has 77,000 miles on it.
the honda cr-v has about 59,000 miles on it

A: The Honda will probably be about as reliable as the 2006 C230, maybe a bit more reliable. Make sure you stay away from the 2001-2002-2003 S-Class; worst Mercedes of all time. Terrible electric quality. Maybe you could get a Merc with a little less miles on it? I mean, it’s not that much, 77,000, but I would still get a car with less miles if I were you. But it is a good choice, the 2006 C230.

A: if u want to go for luxury , go for audi a4 as it more luxuries than merc. ..
audi a4 seems more attractive than c – class
so , go for audi

Q: Is the 2010 Mercedes-Benz C-Class a good used car option?
Currently has Volvo S60, thinking of switching to C200 Kompressor. FYI, i live in Singapore.

A: If you’ve got money to spend after about 4 years on repairs when the warranty finishes (if you even have one now thats transferrable.) I have a 2004 ML350 Special and I just spent $3000 on shocks alone. Mercedes are nice cars, however when the break, your bank will as well. I would suggest something more practical (unless you do have the money to spend on a C-Class). In that case, theres only about a $5000 difference from a 2010 used to a 2011 new, so just buy the new one!

Q: Is a 1997 c280 (c class) mercedes benz supercharged?
my brother just bought one and i have a 2005 scion and i know he has a v6 and probably a lot more hp but he acts like he would literally smoke me. my 0-60 is in between 6 to 7 seconds. let me know what you think .. thanks

A: the ‘97 C280 is not supercharged, it has 140 odd kw and weighs about 1450kg, and it does the 0-60mph in around 8.5 seconds. maybe you should take them down to the track and race them, and show him just how quick your scion is

Q: audi a4 vs Mercedes benz c class 250 cdi avantgarde.?
audi a4 vs Mercedes benz c class 250 cdi avantgarde.
i am planninig to take any one of the car.

A: Audi is the one.

Q: cadillac xlr or mercedes benz 2008 c class?
http://www.thetorquereport.com/2008_mercedes_benz_c_class-thumb.jpg

http://www.allcarwallpapers.com/wallpapers/previews/cadillac-xlr-v-280.jpg

A: Cadillac are almost bankrupt, and Mercedes made their best cars years ago. I have the old 190E, better built than the current rubbish!

Q: Mercedes benz c class auto low tick over while in drive?
What could it be? and is there anyway i can fix it

A: Turn off the German switch.

Q: Is the Mercedes Benz C class Sports coupe hatchback really a great car?
Sportyness
performance
quality
reliability
quality
fit and finish
Seat space

A: Yes, of course. If you can afford it.

Q: do all mercedes benz C class cars come as Kompressor or is it an option?

A: Kompressor means that it is supercharged. I believe in the US, the Kompressor was standard and naturally aspirated V6/V8’s were optional. Everywhere else, it was an option.

Q: Is there a 2006 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C300 4Matic Sport.?
Is there a 2006 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C300 4Matic Sport.?

Q: What are the steps needed to replace my radiator in my 1996 Ford Explorer 8 cylinder?
I am buying my radiator from ebay and intend on installing it myself. I have done this before, but not on this model. I just don’t want to get half way into the job and get stumped by anything. Has anyone ever done this on a 1996 Ford Explorer 8 cylinder or a similar type vehicle.

A: You will need to unplug electric fans. Drain coolant. Disconnect transmission lines, both radiator hoses, overflow reservoir feed line, radiator mounts, and remove radiator with fans attached. Attach fans to new radiator and reverse procedure.

Q: What do I need to replace a transmission on a ford explorer?
I’m getting a 94 or 96 ford explorer and need to replace the transmission (only goes in reverse) what parts (other than the transmission) do I need to order. Also can you use a different year transmission? I’m trying to find a used one. Thanks!

A: Pretty much just tools. And a new filter for the tranny you’re putting in.Fluid also, but that’s about it,be care full with the lines going to it though, you mess them up there’s more$ you have to fork out.

Q: Does the 1997 Ford Explorer have shoulder-belt style seat belts in the backseats?
We are looking at buying a 1997 Ford Explorer and have two children in booster seats. We just want to be sure that they are secured properly.

A: I believe that they do but if you have the VIN number just call the vehicles manufacturer and ask them.

Q: How important is the black rubber plug on the bell housing of a 2003 ford explorer?
I have a 2003 ford explorer and I recently had the transmission rebuilt. When I collected the truck I noticed a small amount of oil/transmission fluild around the black rubber plug on the bell housing on the transmission and upon closer examination I found that the rubber plug was damaged(it had a hole in it). Should I be concerned? Should I take the truck back for them to replace this plug?

A: The black plug covers inspection hole does prevent road debris and rocks from entering. the fluid could be from installation could be a concearn i would worry more about the fluid than the plug…

Q: What is the best year for the Ford Explorer?
I am looking at buying a Ford Explorer between 2003-2006. Are there any differences in the different years of manufacturing?

A: Mainly except for the styling and appearance? No, not really. a few more horsepower was added throughout the years. I’d recommend a 2004 in terms to reliability, because that is when they had a huge spurt of sales. That year, the trims were upgraded and the engine became more powerful. According to design, I’d go with the 2006, though. That one looks better than the other ones.

Q: How much does it cost to have a door hinge replaced on a 94 Ford Explorer?
How much can I expect to pay a body shop to replace my door hinge on a 94 Ford Explorer. The door is sagging and is now misaligned so much that it wont shut without lifting up the door. I was going to try and repair the door myself but it requires grinding off the old hinge bolt bushings and removing the door (which is heavy and not a one man job). Any advice would be most helpful and if I can get an idea of what this is going to run me. Thanks.

A: You can adjust the hinge on the body and the door by just
loosening the bolts and re-aligning the door. Are you sure
you need a new hinge?

Q: How do you wire a 300 watt subwoofer to the stereo of a 98 ford explorer?
I want to add a 300 watt subwoofer to the stereo of a 98 ford explorer to make it sound better?

A: well if your not going to change your deck, you will need a amp that accepts a speaker level input and has a built in crossover.

Q: Can a 99 ford explorer engine fit in a 99 ford ranger?
I have a 99 ford ranger that has a blown motor and i found a 99 ford explorer engine and i think a ford ranger and ford explorer are the same. Without changing motor mounts.

A: The V6 Ranger in 1999 had the 4.0 SOHC motor. So if your Ranger had a V6 and the Explorer motor is the SOHC V6, then they’re identical. I’ve never swapped motors before though so I couldn’t tell you for sure if the mounts are identical, but the engine itself is.

Q: How is the engine in a 1997 Ford Explorer?
I am going to buy a 1997 Ford Explorer with 51,000 miles on it. It has a V8 AWD engine. How is the pick up in this car. How much horsepower does it have. It is a truck engine so I am thinking it must be powerful. Also, how does it compare to the V6 engine. Thanks!
It is a 5.0L V8.

A: aaaahhhhh the v8 all wheel drive ford explorer. nice all wheel drive system on them, viscous coupling drive the same as the subaru’s i believe. well, you’re looking at a triton 4.6 liter v8 with about 215 horsepower AT THE WHEELS, or should i say split between all 4 wheels. This is a nice power plant compared to the 4.0 liter v6 which on a good day pounds out 177 to 182 horses at the wheels. This should shave a little time off your 0 to 60 total. I was decently impressed with the v6 performance in the two door explorers (moderately quick and responsive), so i can imagine the v8 in the 4 door AWD model would be quite quicker.

Q: Why does my 1999 Ford Explorer’s air conditioner shut off/switch to defrost when going uphill?
I have a 1999 Ford Explorer. When I drive it uphill, or put the engine under even moderate load, the air conditioner switches from blowing through the normal vents into the defrost. I have taken the car to a couple of different mechanics who have been unable to solve it.

Thanks for your help!

A: there’s a vacuum hose off or pinched or it could be a vacuum leak

Q: 2001 Ford Explorer radio screen blank How do I repair?
I have a 2001 Ford Explorer with the AM/FM, CD, Cassette player combo. Radio works fine but screen is blank.

A: well im guessing you have to get a new one and i chould have have a factory radio for your car , the same kind if you need

mrpioneer407@yahoo.com

Q: 1991 ford explorer , someone said you can cut a hole in floor to install fuel pump ?
1990 ford explorer , someone said you can cut a hole in floor to install fuel pump ?

A: Don’t cut a hole in the floor if you stop and realize the gas tank is under the spot where you are cutting sparks and gas fumes don’t mix.If you want to cut a Access hole for future use drop the gas tank replace the fuel pump then cut your hole with the gas tank removed.

Q: How do I take replace my side mirror on a 97 Ford Explorer Sport, and how do I remove my side pannel?
I have a 1997 Ford Explorer sport, my side passenger mirror was taken off and need to be replaced. How do I replace it?, I have the new mirror however it looking like I need to take my door panel off to access the screws that hold it in. How do I properly take off my side door panel?
Thanks, however I already have the parts, I need help in removing my side panel so that I can install them

A: my cousin has the same model you can go to auto zone and by the parts and do it your self or you can by the parts and get them repaired at an auto shop for at least half the price.

Q: I have a 98 ford explorer. How can i reset my keyless entry?
I have a 1998 ford explorer. My keyless entry battery died so i had the battery replaces. Now, the keyless entry want work. How can i reset it so that is will work?

A: If im not mistaken on that one you get in the car, shut all the doors, cycle the key from off to on 15 times do not start the car, the locks will cycle once, press the lock button on the keypad, the locks will cycle again, push the unlock button on the keypad, the locks should cycle again. I know that’s how the newer ones are.

Q: Will a 97 ford explorer transmission fit in a 98 ford explorer?
I have a 98 ford explorer 2wd 4.0 V6 with overdrive the transmission went out in it. I have found a 97 ford explorer transmission 2wd 4.0 v6 with over drive, will it fit in my truck?? Is there anything special I should know when I exchange them?

A: Out with the old, in with the new, no hassle.

Q: What is the speaker size for a chevrolet tahoe?

A: go to “crutchfield”.com …….follow directions 4 car audio….its a great site & their great to order from…..never a prob..great cust.service. doing business with them 4 a few years now …..u can call them with a question & they really answer it! correctly too!!

Q: How much would you give me for a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe?
Great conditions, great mileage, with alarm system, 20″ inch rims, I forgot what you call those to help you get on its like a tube not necessarily but they are chromed… oh and a sunroof how much would you give me….

A: Well if you keep it until Chev goes bankrupt this year, it may be a collectors item in a few more years.

Honestly, I wouldn’t buy it. Too much electronics on it, you can’t work on it yourself and very expensive like all vehicles made after 2000

Q: Does anyone know where I can get the schematics for a Chevrolet Tahoe 01′ stereo install?
Okay I need some help … I installed my stereo system in my Tahoe suburban and finally got my highs and lows set up where it sounds good and went to go take off and my cruise control ain’t working and I have no speedometer. I already checked all my fuses and I did have a blown one in my fuse box under the hood but still nothing.. What am I doing wrong??

A: Check out www.installdr.com. They have wiring diagrams and just about any other car wiring help you may need.

Q: I have one year left on my 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe lease. I’ve decided to buy the car. Am I bettter off waiting?
I have 12 months left on my 36 month lease on a 2007 Cevy Tahoe. Since I only have 10,000 miles on the car, I’ve decided to buy it when the lease term is up. Would I be better off buying it now or waiting until the lease term is up?

A: You would be better off not buying it at all.
Purchasing a car after leasing it only guarantees that you will pay the most amount you can for the vehicle.

If you choose not to listen, anyways, wait until the end of the lease. There are no advantages to financing the residual any earlier and there could be a chance it will become a piece of junk in the next 12 months.
Not likely, but just in case, you wouldn’t need to be tied to it.

Q: On a 95 Chevrolet Tahoe, what does a left & right hand drive do?
It is a 4 wheel drive.

A: What are you talking about? A 4×4 only has 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive.

Q: does anyone know what the incentives/rebates for the 2007 chevrolet tahoe will be starting 9/4/07?
i am looking to buy a 2007 tahoe and right now the rebate is only $2000 off which is good until 9/4/07.just wondering if anyone knows what they will be as of 9/4/07.
Anyone know what be a good price for a 2007 Tahoe LT with an invoice of 39,500?

A: I work at a Chevy dealership- and we don’t even know what they are yet.

We get the month’s incentives on the first business day of the month around 1 or 2pm EST via fax- they haven’t come through yet.

Q: When renting a car, what does car type “Chevrolet Tahoe or similar” means?
Does this means that for sure I am not getting the Tahoe? This is with Advantage rent a car

A: it means a big SUV type truck with no bed on the back

Q: How to find out if antifreeze/coolant is needed in an 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe?
It’s an LT autoride. V8 5.3 liter

A: The radiator overflow tank will have marks on it likely labeled full hot and full cold. They are hard to see because they’re molded into the plastic tank and are the same color, but they are there. You should easily be able to see the coolant through the plastic to check the level.

Q: what year does the chevrolet tahoe doors change from the back?
help on a chevrolet tahoe

A: Do you mean 2 door to 4 door? The last year for the 2 door was 1995. The 1996 model year were all 4 door, and no more 2 door models were made after that.

Q: SECURITY FEATURE ON 1999 CHEVROLET TAHOE WONT START?
i unhooked the battery on my 1999 Chevy Tahoe, hooked it back up and now it will not start. i just bought it today and i think it is a security feature of some kind, if anyone knows anything about this please help. thank you.

A: You encountered GM’s infamous Passlock system the same way I did! You can fix it yourself.

Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the “on” position, so the warning lights all come on, and leave it there for ten minutes. The second source says to do that three times in a row, so I did, but it is apparently to make the sensor less touchy. Get the process started then read the sources for more background.

Apparently GM has been using this tricky ignition switch system since 1996, and when the system is not triggered by a battery change it drives people crazy.

Q: What happened to Chevrolet Tahoe model Z71?
I used to love that model of the Tahoes when I went to a GM Chevy dealership I couldn’t find one. Were they discontinued for the LTZ? I’m not a fan of the LTZ

A: For the 2010 Chevroelt Tahoe the Z71 package is still available. Also it is available on the 2009 model year as well. The Z71 package has not been discontinued on this or any of our other trucks or SUV’s that have this as an option in recent model years. The Z71 is also simply a package that is available for the Tahoe. It is not necessarily a model of Tahoe. The Z71 package consists of an off road suspension which allows you to go off road and not damage the vehicle in doing so. You may want to speak the personel at your local dealership to see if they may be getting an order of Tahoes with the Z71 package on them and if not you should be able to order the vehicle through them. I hope this information helps you.

Q: What’s the size of a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe CD-Player?
Is it 1 DIN, 1.5 DIN, or 2 DIN, or is in another measurment?
Thanks

A: its a double(2) din cd player.

Q: 94 Chevrolet tahoe Turn signal, wiper, cruise lever.?
Does anyone know how to properly install a turn signal, wiper and cruise muilti-function lever in a 94 chevrolet tahoe? My old switch isnt functioning correctly so I ended up buying a new one for $60. I looked thru the haynes manual but it doesnt mention anything about installing this part. Ive heard that the lever can be simply “popped” out of place without having to remove the steering wheel. I dont want to start taking things apart til I know for sure tho. Any help would be appreciated.

A: If what you bought is just the cruise lever, look at it. If it is just a straight shaft and a wiring harness then yes it does just snap in and out. Here is a pic.

http://www.audioallies.com/images/Audiovox/2503180.jpg

The problem is getting the wiring harness in. Some of them had a short harness that plugs in just behind the lever. Others had a long harness that has to be fished down through the column.
I hope the cruise control is what you are trying to fix. The wiper switch and turn signal switch are all inside the column and this lever will not fix either.

Q: Width of 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe from side mirror to side mirror?
My drive way is 92 inch’s across.I was wondering how much of a tight squeeze it would be to go through everyday or if it worth the hassle. Thanks!

A: The base width of the 2007 tahoe is 79 in.You would need to measure the mirrors and factor that in the total width.Best of luck.

Q: Which car should I buy for my 16 year old daughter? A lexus RX or a Nissan Xterra?
She said that she wants a Lexus RX and a Nissan Xterra (obviously, I will be buying new). Which car would be best for a new driver?
I’m not a troll. I’m not going to buy my daughter an old, used car. She gets what she wants.
Geez, I just want to know which car is safer and whatnot.

A: A 92 Civic like a normal 16 year old.

Q: Can the 2010 Subaru Tribeca compare to the 2010 Lexus RX 350?
I want to know if the 2010 Subaru Tribeca can compare to the 2010 Lexus RX 350. If they can sort of match up. Can the interior, exterior, engine, body, etc. be as good as each other? Not looking at the price and no biased answers, do you think the Subaru Tribeca is better or the Lexus RX 350?

A: I’ll try to be as simple and as straight forward as I can. In terms of refinement, luxury and interior, the Lexus is definitely better. Regarding the exterior, well that is very subjective, so I’ll leave that aside for the moment, however, Subaru has never focused very much in terms of the design of their cars.

In terms of engine, the RX features a 275hp 3.5L V6 Engine. Lexus claims that 90% of the torque is available at low rpm which is great for driving in the city or overtaking a car on the road.

The Subaru has a 256 hp and a bigger displacement (3.6 L V6) (Data regarding top of the range engine).

In order to compare which one performs better it is important for you to check the weight of each one of them. But in terms of ride comfort, people say that the Lexus is extremely comfortable whilst Subaru is known for its excellent AWD systems.

In the end, if I were you and had the money, I’d buy the Lexus no doubt whatsoever. However, if you do any off-roading you will be better off on the Subaru Tribeca.

So formally, answering your question, in theory, they can’t be compared due to their different profiles and they are each fit for a different use

Hope this helps and taking a thorough look through each of the make’s web pages can be very helpful!

Q: How safe is the Lexus RX 400h?
I’m contemplating buying a Lexus RX 400h. However, I’d like to find out safety data and haven’t been able to find much. Anything people could point me too would be awesome.

A: They’re pretty safe. In fact, Lexus’ advertisement theme for the RX is safety. They have 14 actively safe features on them like airbags, traction control, VDIM, etc. Here is a video of the frontal offset crash test for the 2004 RX 330 (the design of the RX 400h is the same so the rating will also be the same):
The RX got top marks. See how only the front was damaged. Usually, cars in this type of crash will have the sides buckle which causes the doors not to open, but as you can see, the sides stayed intact. Looks great to me. Here is the link for all of the safety features on Lexus.com: http://www.lexus.com/models/RXh/features/safety.html

Q: How do I program Lexus RX 330 master key remote?
Can anyone tell me the exact steps I need to do in oredr to program my key to my RX?
TIA, I appreciate your time.
(mispelled order)

A: I am guessing you have not checked the owners manual. Mine tells how to do it. If yours doesn’t why not just have your local Lexus (or Toyota) Dealer do it. If you don’t like those ideas try:

http://www.lexusowners.com and go to the RX forum

BTW. I think it requires an expensive piece of equipment

Q: My 2004 Lexus RX 330 is losing power while driving?
My 2004 Lexus RX 330 is losing power while driving especially when the air conditioner is on, what could be causing this?

A: You need to check the condition of the spark plugs.
You need to replace the fuel filter as well the air filter.
You need to check the level of Transmission fluid.
Check for vauum leak between the intake manifold and the mass airflow sensor.
You must find out_ How many mille on that timing belt.

Q: What rims would match a Lexus RX 2010 in Sapphire Blue?
D: Me = Not a car person.

Can someone give me tips or specific rims that would match this car?

Thanks in advance!

P.S.: This is a pic of it if, for some reason, you can’t use google. c:

A: Sweet car. My 2009 IS250 AWD is this same color. I’d stick with the stock rims. First of all, the stock rims are Lexus quality and expensive – nearly 2 grand to buy them separately at retail if I’m remembering, you won’t find something better without spending more than that.

If you did feel the need to change them, may as well go with a different color, which would mean black. With a blue-black car like this, I almost feel that would be too close, but different enough to not match if you know what I mean. It’s like wearing pants and a shirt in two different shades of the same color.

Stick with what you have. High quality, looks nice.

Q: What makes the bumpers of the 1998 Lexus RX 300 is strong?
A couple of people have hit my RX’s bumpers, but nothing but little scratches happen while other people’s bumpers get dented or smashed.

ie: An old cadillac hit me, and the whole front was totaled while my rear bumper was just scratched. (we both were going at 40 mph and braked)

ie: A 2006 Toyota Avalon hit my car (mine was stationary) and the guy’s rear bumper got dented.

A: It’s probably because those two cars did not actually “hit” your bumper to their bumper, but that their hood and trunks hit your bumpers. Your RX rides higher than those two vehicles and so when they hit you, the actually went UNDER you and your bumper went into the TOP of their bumpers, not head on.

Believe me, you get hit 40mph on the RX bumper square on, and it’s denting also. I was parked, hit by a Durango or junk and my bumper corner was pushed in. It happens…

Just consider yourself lucky to never go up against a Yukon or H1 Hummer…

Q: I have a 2001 lexus rx 300 and I have a clicking sound coming from under my passenger side dash?
When I remove the two plastic panels I can see a white plastic piece with a metal rod attached moving continuously back and forth on a plastic track? It is located on what would be the side of the center dash. Is something jammed in one of the air vents and it can’t close? Any answers would be greatly appreciated- the noise is driving me nuts!

A: its a time bomb…idk i just felt like answering a question… oh but if you want a real answer then i suggest you go to a good mechanic to get it checked, or your lexus dealer if you gotsss the $$$$

Q: Is a 2005 Lexus RX 330 that has had no runaway problems be safe to buy?
This Lexus has 57,000 miles on it and I called the original owner who had traded it in (so there was no reason to lie) and she said there were no problems of that nature at all. I typed in the VIN # and there is a recall on the floor mats.

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.deep-ice.com

Q: How much does Lexus RX 2004 cost in the united states?
How much does it cost if it is in a good condition?

A: under 20 000

Q: Is a used 2004 Lexus RX 330 a good car for a beginning female driver?
(17 years old)
Would she be considered spoiled? Here’s a picture:
http://www.gardellimotors.ca/photos/04rx330white61miles/1.jpg
and also, is it true that the majority of RX drivers are middle-aged women?

Q: 2008 Lexus RX 350 My award winning dealer has not fixed it yet. What should I do?
My 2008 RX 350 has a squeaking, screeching metallic noise from underneath the car. I have taken it to the dealer 4 times. St first I was told the muffler assembly was loose and tightened up, then the muffler gaskets were worn and replaced 2 times. The noise is still there when I park on level or an incline. Is this a defective suspension or what?? My award winning dealer has not fixed it yet. What should I do?

A: Repairing your car under warrenty makes no $$$$ for Toyota. The awards come from Toyota and are for sales & profits, this is where YOU don’t fit in.

Go to a private mechanic for repairs and forget Lexus next time.

So far 56 people have died in Toyota made vehicles, see it here: http://ctpatriot1970.wordpress.com/2010/02/28/toyota-at-least-56-deaths-from-sudden-acceleration-horrifying-accounts-of-fatalities-video/

Q: Can you still die from the Caron monoxide from a Lexus rx 350 even though it has a cataylic converter?
It produces 0.194 g/km of carbon monoxide.
Is that lethal?

This is for research purposes.

A: Yes it can be lethal inside a car.

Q: I am deciding between an 02 toyota sequoia and an 03 Lexus RX 300 4×4. Which should I choose?
I love both looks, however, the main reason I am buying this type of vehicle is to drive out on the beach. I know the sequoia canhandle it, but I am unsure of the Lexus’ ability to perform in sand. Any info will be helpful and greatly appreciated.

A: If you want the added luxury, go with the lexus. If you don’t care, go with what your comfortable with. The sequoia would probably be cheaper too. I hope that helped.

Q: Parts needed for a timing belt change on a 2001 Lexus RX 300?
I know it will get a timing belt, tensioner and water pump. Should the crank and camshft seals be replaced? Is there anything else that should be replaced as a preventative measure? My Lexus has 106,000 miles on it. I know the belt should have been replaced at 90,000 miles but I did not find that out until it had 105,000 miles on it.

A: I would not touch the front seals unless they were leaking.Actually I don’t even recommend replacing water pump & tensioner on that engine with that mileage. This engine has plenty of clearance (unlike most Hondas & Mitsubishis) and does not cause major engine damage if timing belt (or waterpump or tensioner) break.
