Q: How much will a 2007 chevy suburban cost in about 2 years?
i am saving up to buy a car and i was just curious to see how much a used suburban would cost in 2 years. right now they run at about 23,000 or 25,000 dollars

thanks!

A: The 4 wheel drive models hold their value pretty well….I’d say between 16000 to 18000

Q: how to change thermostat 1994 chevy suburban? why isnt temp gauge working?

Q: How do I hook up a Nesa brand headrest TV in Chevy Suburban?
I bought a used Suburban that had the TVs in the headrests but they are not working. The dealer said he didn’t know if they were hooked up. Can tell me the steps to take to troubleshoot this? Could it just be a fuse? Thanks!

A: you may be missing the brain for the tv if that is the case then you are screwed and they will never work other wise trace the wires back and look for the fuse like there should be one if it was a reputable install

Q: How do I stabilize the ride of my 1997 Chevy Suburban?
I have not driven many suburbans and just got my own. At 155000 miles I do not know if the shocks are bad or if all suburbans role side to side like this one. It just feels unsteady while driving. Could be the tires. Could be front end suspension. I would like to know how to progress through the options I have in the most inexpensive and effective way to try and make my suburban drive more like my pickup did.

A: With 155,000 miles on it, and you don’t know how old the shocks are that is where I would start first. If it has over sized tires on it you may need a bigger stabilize bar for it. You can get one at any 4 wheel drive shop.

Q: I have a 1994 Chevy Suburban, I need a stereo for it. Is an Eclipse CD3414 stereo compatible with it?
If not what would work in my suburban? I currently don’t have a stereo in it. I got it that way.

A: You can put just about any head unit in that truck. And, the Eclipse CD3414 is a good choice. You’ll need a wiring harness adapter and a mounting kit to hook it up and make it look decent.

Q: how can i turn my 1990 chevy suburban into a cleaner more efficient vehicle?
its a 1990 chevy suburban gasoline 1500 2×4 and im not going to use my AC

A: Why are you not going to use your A/C? You’ve forgotten about your 4/40 air conditioner. The term means “4 windows down at 40 mph”. All vehicles are equipped with it- at least the 4-windowed versions.

Keep in mind, though, that the 4/40 A/C ’still causes extra gas consumption’ because of the extra drag that reduces your vehicle’s velocity.

*The first thing you can do for your vehicle has more than one selling point: not only does it increase fuel efficiency but you will not have to replace it in 1 million miles. The K&N air filter is designed for very high airflow and only needs to be cleaned every 50,000 miles give or take a few depending on the conditions where you live. Searching your part number based on the info you gave me, I found the K&N site. There you can determine what you specifically need:

http://www.knfilters.com/air_filter/Chevrolet_V1500_Suburban.aspx

*Carburetors are the most complex of auto parts located above the motor. Since rebuilding one is extensive and costly, I recommend first using a fuel cleaner additive like B-12 chemtool. Keep also a can of carb cleaner spray in the glove compartment for the winter. If the butterfly valve sticks, you can just spray a small portion on it, then use your fingers to work it open.

LUCAS also puts out fuel additives as well and if you use lower-grade gasoline I highly recommend using that on each tankfill.

LUCAS makes an octane booster but keep in mind it isn’t street legal (yet is sold in most aftermarket stores, go figure).

*Look on your speedometer. Is there a circle or a highlighting around a particular mile-per-hour number, like 55? If there is anything like that, this means that your vehicle is designed to move at the best possible fuel efficiency for that speed. I recommend driving at that range. (Just not in school zones; I don’t care that the sign had a larger number it said ‘km’).

*There is an item called the Tornado Max Air Flow System that cools and increases the amount of air leading to the intake, and I used one one my vehicles for the past few years. You can go to this site:

http://www.realtruck.com/air_management_system_tornado_air/R141249P1C1T.html#order

..and enter your vehicle’s information where it says “To find products for your vehicle, select your Make, Model, and Year.” then choose one of the two that fits your vehicle: either [TOR-kc-60-c] or [TOR-kc-75-c]. Then take that information to eBay and get one a lot cheaper. Now I want to inform you that I saw a review once from a site that debunks the fuel saver ideas, saying that while they basically found no reason to debunk the fuel saving potential of the Tornado, it could cause a shaky intake. I have never experienced a shaky intake. You may just consider adding a new air intake system to your vehicle period.

*Purchase spark plugs that are above OEM specification. I suggest studying up on platinum, double platinum, and iridium plugs. As a former counterman, your OEM brandmaker is AC Delco. They will also make higher grade plugs, but other brands are trustworthy as well, like BOSCH, a German-made plug. When studying the different plugs for your particular vehicle, keep in mind to find out the gap information for each plug, if the plugs you intend to buy require gapping at all.

*ACCEL is a high-performance brandname that sells spark plugs as well as ’spark plug wires’. I suggest studying up on the differences between 8mm and 9mm wires, etc.

*Check the consistency of your transmission fluid. This is a closed system that doesn’t require changing near as often as engine oil, but should be checked for grit (by placing a drop of fluid between the fingers and spreading out) and odor (looking for a burnt smell). Replace this fluid and the filter immediately if you sense any of this. I recommend Royal Purple for your lubricants. Keep in mind that the torque converter holds a ton of transmission fluid and you may require about 22 quarts approximately on the drain (which should only be done professionally as special machines are required if you do not have this machine or others like it).

Another site to check out gives you other options for cleanable and reusable filters:

http://gopurepower.com/

Basically, any time you desire to increase efficiency in anything, just consider first changing the filter before doing anything else. And keep the part numbers in a notebook in your glove compartment so that on future maintenance you will have a lot more time with information available.

*BE VERY CAUTIOUS when considering any oil additive that cleans your engine! A lot of times the gunk caked in there on vehicles over 100,000 miles is actually sustaining its performance. Using a bottle of cleaner that truly does what it says it does may cause your engine to run worse than it did before. LUCAS oil additive is the best and only additive I will recommed for you. A 20% mixture with your oil on the oil change (substituting 20% of your oil for the stabilizer) will cause more oil to rest up in between the gears making for a lot less wear on start-up, and start-up is the worst damage that can be done to an engine.

Q: 94 chevy suburban air conditioner not working?
94 Chevy suburban have a lack of refrigerant flow in the air conditioner cannot find a blockage any thoughts?
have checked all hoses for blockages not sure what else to check
were exactly is the expansion valve i was told there was not one. Also High and low side pressure stay constant even with compressor off

A: The pressure will equalize on the high and low sides if the compressor is not running. Sounds like you just have a low freon charge (which also means you have a leak somewhere).

Q: How bad do winds have to be when driving I drive a chevy suburban 03.?
Like how many mph and can it be bad for driving in it. I know since the suburban is flat on each side it could flip it over but at the same time it’s heavy

A: The wind speed really doesn’t matter. If you’re not comfortable driving, then it’s time to find a safe place to stop.

Q: What SUV is better, 2006 Dodge Durango 4×4 SXT, or 2003 Chevy Suburban 4×4 fully loaded?
Which one is better, durango has 15,000 miles on it but like nothing else, the Suburban has about 100,000 more but has alot more features in it. So which one is better?

A: which one is better easy type into search box
how to check a used four wheel drive
wil get a check list then go check them for problem signs

Q: what are the best headers for a 71 chevy suburban?
im still a rookie at this kind of stuff, but i have a 454 engine out of a 71 suburban, and was wanting to know what headers to get, and what makes headers different from eachother? im mostly lookin for performance.
i’ve rebuilt the engine, so it’s not all stock, i’ve bored it .30 over, new pistons, crankshaft ect.

A: A “tuned” header is what you want for the best performance. The header tubes are all exactly the same length. But unless your building this sucker up Just standard hooker, or some block huggers would be fine.

Q: My 1999 Chevy Suburban will not start but the interior door lights & dome light is flashing. any suggestions?
Tried to jump battery, but lights just keep blinking and vehicle will not start. Ran great until this cold morning when I tried to start the vehicle after sitting all night.

A: That means battery is dying or dead. Replace the battery.

Q: 1997 Chevy suburban no start situation any techs online?
I am trying to narrow a no start situation. New fuel pump, inline filter and i have fuel at the shrader valve seems to have proper presssure. Can i spray some starting fluid into the throttlebody it is a central(sfi) type system. I diddnt chek my ignition yet due to lack of equipment with me at the time. Going to verify good spark tomorrow. I was told the car will run but seems to be starving for fuel (lack of power) no stumbling or irratic symptoms. Going by my trusty ol Haynes manual it states that “the injectors are a non serviceable item”. ok fine but will it be worth my while to check the filter behind the press. regulator? Any other pert. information regarding this particular engine would be a great help to me. By the way I replaced my injectors in a 1995 Chevy Astro van with a 4.3 liter cmfi type system. Thank you for your input in advance.

A: Is the pump running? You can shoot starting fluid into the air box with some one cranking it. If it pops off you know you’re having fuel delivery issues. That “non-serviceable” part is for sale at many parts stores. It is in the intake and a pretty big job.It can and has been done in the driveway so don’t get too worried. If at all possible, get your hands on a GM manual. Goodluck!

Q: 1998 Chevy Suburban – when steering left, wheel does not return to it’s original position. Any ideas why?
Usually, the steering wheel returns when you steer left or right. Now, however, if I turn left, and take my hand off the wheel, the car will literally just go in circles until I move the wheel back to the upright position.

A: Check if the steering pump is working correctly, check fluid and belt.

Q: Why won’t my chevy suburban go past 3000 rpm while driving?
96 suburban, V8 auto.

When in park you can rev it past 3000. When you start driving it, you can’t go past 3000 in any gear. If you are in a high gear it will not shift down to pass someone, it hovers around 3000 and feels gutless. No check engine light on.

Any and all ideas please! Thank you!

A: I would say get the exhaust checked. You could have a clogged cat.

Q: How do you remove a 2001 Chevy Suburban seat armrest?
I have a replacement cover for my driver seat armrest, but cannot figure out how to remove it. There is a small hole on the bottom edge near the seat mount – could be for a screw driver or allen wrench.

A: Ok right where it pivots, you need to pull the cloth or leather material that’s on the seat (seat side)inward as much as you can creating a gap between the seat and the armrest, now you can see that there is a clip holding the armrest in place, just pull the clip out using a long needle nose pliers, be carefull not to drop the clip inside the seat, i recommend having a friend to help being that you’ve never done this before (one to pull the material and another to remove the clip). good luck
