Q: Why could my 2005 Dodge 1500 Ram’s check gauges light on?
It’s a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.7L Hemi. The check gauges light started coming on a little while ago, but it pretty much only comes on when I first start up the truck in the morning when it’s cold out. I just changed the oil, but I checked the other fluids and my coolant looks a little low. Ideas?

A: anything can trip that light to come on including a low fuel in it,that light was designed to come on if any of the gages read low or don’t respond as quick as they should,have auto zone scan it and see which one made the light come on,even a thicker oil or real cold oil will and can cause that light to come on for a few seconds when you first start it,if it goes right back off then chances are there’s nothing wrong with it,low coolant will also trip that light to come on,and it doesn’t have to be that low,good luck

Does the 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 4×4 with a hemi have an in-line fuel filter? If so where is it at?

A: Your truck does not have a fuel filter installed outside of the tank. What it does have is a screen on the fuel pump. It is not a part that gets replaced as normal maintenance.

Q: Does Anyone know how much a Dodge Ram 1500 Can Tow?
I’m looking at a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 at a lot in town. It is a Quad Cab with the 4.7l V8 engine. Anyone know what the tow rating is?

A: 7250 if its the 4×4
7750 if its a 4×2

I am having the ball joints replaced on my Dodge Ram 1500 and I am wondering how much it pays out or how long it takes.

A: That depends if its a 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive and if its uppers or lowers or both. 2WD would be a couple hrs for all of the ball joints and 4WD would be more depending on how seized the wheel bearings are that you have to remove to do the job. Tie rod would take no time and should be aligned after. Rear main, once again, if its 4WD then longer as the transfer case as well as the trans must be removed. I’d say 4 to 7 hrs respectively.

Q: Water is leaking into the cab of my dodge ram 1500?
I have a 1997 dodge ram 1500 club cab and so far this year when there is a heavy rain i have water coming under my drivers door and collecting on the floor. There is no rust on the door and as far as i can tell, all the weather striping is intact. I didn’t have this problem last year and it only happens in heavy rain, in light rain nothing happens. Now i just jam a towel in the door every time it rains and that has been collecting it. Any ideas?

A: i just sold my 99 and it did this for long time before i found it,it was leaking and coming down inside the door seal and running out in the floor board,i couldn’t actually see it coming in was what made it hard to find,also notice the corner of the windshield and see if it looks kind of foggy, they will leak a small amount and you wont even realize their leaking,i sealed mine before i sold it and it didn’t leak when we checked it,good luck.

Q: How Hard is it to install running boards/ nerf bars on a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500?
I just bought a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 and it did not have Running Boards on it. I found some on E-bay that I would like to order and when looking at the underneath of the truck I am not sure where they mounted. I am getting chrome nerf bars, any idea how hard they are to mount. Thank You

Q: what is the name of the thing that holds the transmission up in a dodge ram 1500 pickup?
i have a 1999 dodge ram 1500 and the thing that holds my transmission up is all bent up the mechanic that I went to to fix my crankshaft said I needed a new ….. but I can’t remember what that part is called.

A: a tranny mount or the crossmember brace !! the brace runs all the way (width) between the frame!!

i have a 98 dodge ram 1500 with a 5.2l 318 and i put some big tires on it and its a dog now and has horrible gas mileage so im looking for cheap ways to get better gas mileage and more horsepower so whats the best choice for headers?

A: i bought a set of hooker headers for mine and it helped it a lot,especially on power,i didn’t notice that much of a gain on mileage,but power wise it really helped it,there’s many good brands of headers on the market today for those trucks,but hookers are a really good choice for price and performance,good luck.

Q: What headers should I put on my 2005 Dodge Ram 1500?
I have a dodge ram 1500 5.7 liter V8 Hemi. Its the Laramie package. It has a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust with 3 inch tubing and a 4 inch rear side outlet. I want to put headers on and i wanted to see what you guys recommended for my truck.
one more question. Will I need to modify my exhaust to fit the long tube headers?

A: full length headers are easier to run the exhaust off of is the only difference,the shorty headers are the best but the hardest to modify an exhaust for,good luck.

Q: Help installing whelen LED hideaway strobes in the headlight assembly on a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500?
Has anybody installed the new Whelen LED hide-a-way strobes on a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500? I have knowledge on the electrical side, but am lacking knowledge in the process of removing the actual headlights and taillights in order to drill the holes.

If anybody can provide any help it will be greatly appreciated.

A: The process should be similar to what I had to do to put strobes in my 93 Ford Explorer.
I had to remove headlight assemblies from the grille so I could set them on my work bench to have the room to get a drill in there to drill the 1/2 inch hole in the side of the reflectors.
Still have to do the back strobes yet.

Look for approx 4 screws that hold the assembly in place & remove them. Don’t touch the funny looking screws, those control your headlight aim.

i have a 99 dodge ram 1500 and want to lift it what is the most cost effictive way to lift it and do you get spacers to bring out the wheels to stick out the body to give that wider look

A: 4 wheel parts has all the stuff you are asking about. and ordinary answers include a spacer kit for the coil spings and a body lift witch will give you the most room for tire clearence.. or you can also check Skyjacker .com or Fabtech if you need more lift than that.

A: you mean 134-a, i think its around 2.2 pounds in that one,it says what to add to it on the sticker located on the shroud or near the compressor,you don’t want to overfill it though,i wouldn’t add over one can to it if its not working right,you could damage the compressor on it,it would be a lot better to have a shop do this that has the gages to monitor it with,good luck.
