Q: My F-150 taillight burned out so I replaced it and it still does not work. What to do?
I have a 1990 Ford F-150 and my left taillight just burned out. I bought a bulb to replace it and it still does not work. I also changed the fuze and still got nothing. What else would be the problem?
A: it could be the ballas the bulb connects into. ballas might not be the right spelling though. test it and see what happens.

Q: How do u reset the check engine light on 2010 F-150?
I have a 2010 F-150. It only has 80 miles on it so its brand new. The check engine light can on so does anyone know if theres a way to reset it?
A: Just about anyone with a scan tool can shut it off but don’t you want to know why it came on in the first place? Go to the dealer.
Q: What all has to be done when taking a 5.4 V8 out of an F 150 and putting it in a 1999 to 2004 Mustang?
I totalled my 2003 F-150. I want to take the engine which only has 70,000 miles on it, and put it in a 99-04 Mustang. Any info would be helpful. Are there any modifications that need to be done. What kind of tranmission will I need? Can I use the transmission out of my F-150?
A: Here’s the bible: Anyone intrested in 5.4L swaps, in here. Need you to opine. – Mustang Forums
It pretty much straight forward and the only parts that need modifying are the mid-pipe (lengthening/widening) and adaptor plates for the intake (though soon, HPS will have a specfic 5.4 intake).
Q: how do I turn on the automatic door unlock feature for all doors on my 2006 f-150?
I come to a stop and put the truck in Park. The driver door unlocks but not any of the other doors. How can I program the truck to unlock all four doors. I have a 2006 f-150 4 door crew lariat.
A: alot of times there is a small switch on the inside of the door. open the door, drivers side, and look by the actual attachment for the door to lock closed. there should be a switch there.
Q: Is the Ford F-150 really the best selling truck 25 years running?
if GMC and Chevy are counted together? The Silverado and Sierra are the same truck but their sales figures are kept seperately. I heard that GM having to split the two up is what gave the F-150 the title of best selling pickup 25 years running. True?
A: yes, its true
Q: Where does the negative cable connect on a 1989 Ford F-150?
I changed the battery on my 1989 Ford F-150. I can’t find the place to connect the negative cable to. I know one end goes on the battery. The cable itself isn’t long enough to reach the engine. I just can’t remember where it was connected.
A: should be on the frame, or the engine block, different vehicles have them in different locations, go find a neighbor with a truck like yours, call the dealer, catch one driving by, get under there with a flashlight and find the shiny spot around the hole in a frame member, unless you have that fender mounted starter selenoid, like my 90, look on the passenger side fender (my rusty brain works occasionally)
Q: Can I use a jack for a 1997 Cadillac Deville for a 1990 Ford F-150 ?
Can this be used to change a tire a on a 1990 Ford F-150 ? Where do I jack it up at underneath?
A: probably not,the car has a scissor type jack that fits under the door rocker panel molding and the truck needs a different type for higher lifting.
Q: f-150 dual tanks gas from back tank drains to front builds up pressure?
1898 ford f-150 dual gas tanks. front tank does not work. lately the gas from the back tank is draining into the front tank and building up high pressure. gas leaks from the cap and sprays out like a shook up pepsi.
A: 1989 eh, didn’t know they were made then. Of course, they always said that Henry Ford was ahead of his time. Nevertheless, I will assume that you meant 1998.
I had almost the exact same problem in my 1993 F-150 hunting rig. What you will have to do involves removing the front tank. I would replace the fuel pump while you have it out. Coming out of the top of the fuel pump above the tank you will see a check valve attached to the out line.
Supposing that you buy just the pump, this valve will need to be replaced. It is tricky because of the bend in the line and you may end up taking a cutoff wheel and cutting it off (then puttign on the new one).
If you buy the whole fuel pump assembly (pump, mounting plate, and level sender) this will already be taken care of and you can simply reinstall it.
What was hapening was the check valve was stuck open on the faulty pump and all of the extra pressure created by the functioning pump (being heald back by the regulator) was being pumped back through the valve and into the front tank. Also, while you have the tank out check it for leaks. I beleave that there is a plastic cover on the front of the front tank that covers the end. I would not put it back on when reinstalling the tank. It only traps dirt and water and allows for the tank to rust worse (I believe that it is the same on a ‘98, if I am wrong about the cover somebody please say something).
On mine the situation was worse. I ended up replacing the rear fuel pump and sender, then the front tank, then the rear tank (that began leaking as soon as I replaced the pump), then the front check valve. It was a long four days. Better luck with yours.

Q: How hard is it to bolt headers on a 1995 F-150?
How difficult is it to bolt headers on a 1995 ford F-150 with a 302? It looks like itd be difficult on the passenger side, drivers side will be a lot easier. Id like to do long tube.
A: unbolt the motor mounts and jack the motor for the passenger side you will have to feed them in from the bottom and it wont be too difficult at all yanking the motor will be alot more difficult then it really is
Q: How much should a brake job cost for a 2004 F-150? And what type of pads are the OEM brake pads?
I used to have a ‘97 F-150 and having new brake pads put on used to cost me about $60-80. I’m getting one of my parent’s truck’s done (a 2004 F-150 FX4 Supercrew – new body style) and when I called to get quotes, the lowest was about $130, and others being over $200. Is this about right?
One mentioned that OEM is ceramic pads, I assume that’s true and they’re not trying to upsell me better pads when not needed? Also one mentioned having to repack/grease bearings… yet one quote an extra $50 to do that, and another only $9… Is this necessary?
I appreciate any info, thanks in advance.
A: Yes the price for parts and labor is correct. The pads should run anywhere from $70-80. Also that truck does not have packable bearings don’t let the shops fool you. OEM pads are motorcraft which is ford brand as for the composition of the pad material semi metallic is what came with it but ceramic is a good way to go less dust and they are quieter.
Q: Could an ignition module on a 1990 f-150 cause it to stall out when i put it in gear and not start back up?
My 1990 Ford F-150 has started stalling out when i put in gear and not wanting to start back up for an hour or so than it will start, however the other day i started it and was drivin around but when i shut it off the thing wouldnt restart for an hour than it started the whole dying when i put in gear thing all over again my question is can my ignition module cause that?
A: Could be. Does this happen with the engine cold or hot? Any Check Engine Light indicating? With the engine cold and first start, the module goes into a default mode (all input signals are preset). Soon as the engine warms up however, the module goes out of default and starts to respond to various input signals. The temperature sensor (not the gauge tempt. sensor) may be malfunctioning.
Q: How many watts in the F-150 audiophile stereo?
I just bought a F-150 supercab FX4 Plus Black (If you american it’s a F-150 Luxury package)
A: Looking in my sources I can’t find it, but if I remember, it’s about 100 watts PEP output on the sub and 20-30 Watts PEP on each channel
Q: How can I instal a new style radio into an old 79 F-150?
My F-150 has a radio mount with two holes on the left and right side. The new style car radios wont fit because they don’t screw into the holes on the left and right side. Is there a way I can install a new style radio? Or where can I find an old radio that would fit that has FM or a cassette player?
A: Check out crutchfield.com. Put in your model and year to see what they offer.
Nevermind, I checked it out and they don’t have anything.
You may have to fabricate something yourself, maybe installing it below the dash.
