Q: Im lookin to buy a used jeep wrangler?
where are some places besides craigslist i can go to find a used jeep wrangler for around $3000 in florida?
ty :D

A: Are you sure that you will be able to fit into a Jeep Wrangler? After all, you’re 6′4 and still possibly growing. :p

I’m not sure if carsoup.com is available in Florida, but that is where I found my used car.

Q: Is a used 1997 Jeep Wrangler SE 4×4 a relatively reliable jeep to purchase?
The car has just over 1K miles and is from a dealership. Just curious if that year was a relatively good year for Wranglers since it was a new platform. Are there any “gotcha” I should definitely check for before buying the jeep?
The car has just over 100K miles and is from a dealership. Just curious if that year was a relatively good year for Wranglers since it was a new platform. Are there any “gotcha” I should definitely check for before buying the jeep?

A: no that wont have all the little nik naks the new jk’s will have but thats a very reliable jeep. just like any other year you’re going to want to make some modifications to it if you plan on rock crawling and stuff but if you just want a driver, thats a great jeep. HAPPYJEEPIN!

Q: About how much would a used Jeep Wrangler coast?
my dad said he would match my money for a graduation present to buy a jeep wrangler about how much would it coast total?

A: Depends on how fast you were going when you slam it in neutral.

Q: Intrested in buying a used 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4D Sport Utility?
My Uncle has one and when I sat in the seat it was like floating on air, but besides the seats being so comfortable I thought it was an overall good Jeep? Good buy or not?

A: I guess it’s personal opinion, but I looked at beautiful 2000 Limited, but the leather seats seemed very uncomfortable and looked really, really ugly. They don’t wear gracefully either. So I ended up buying a non-limited with cloth seats and love it.

Q: Where can I buy a used right hand drive jeep for mail delivery in western Virginia?
I’m looking to buy a right hand drive jeep 4×4 for mail delivery. It should be a used car as I don’t want to spend a fortune on it. To be bought in western Virginia. Thank you.

A: http://whit.me/CheapAuction

- here’s a good website to look for real good, affordable and quality vehicles from official government auctions!

I bought my Honda Accord for just $2250 with a milage of 5,270!
And it’s been already a year I’m riding my car and it’s still doing well! I’ve recommended it to my friends and all of them are enjoying their used cars and have no problem with it!

ADDED: I just found out that it’s been featured in Auto magazine and they received good editorial reviews!

Q: What is the standard price for a used 2001 Jeep Wrangler?
I am looking to buy a 2001 Jeep in central Texas. How much would you pay? 98,000 miles.

A: Try these websites: www.kbb.com and www.edmunds.com
click on used car prices. It will ask your zip code and will show what you should pay for a used car in your area.

Q: If i purchased a used 2005 jeep, how would i take advantage of the extended warranty that the company offers?
according to their web site, the second owner has access to the 7 year warranty if you pay a fee to dodge/jeep. do you need documentation that all the necessary maintenance services have been performed on the vehicle from the prior owner? how much does the warranty extension cost?
the used car dealership does not count as a ’second owner’, correct?

A: Looks like you’ve already seen their website regarding this. In case you haven’t, here is a link:

You have to pay $150 to a Jeep dealership within 30 days of the purchase to transfer the original factory warranty to you. BTW, this only works if you are the second owner, so make sure the Jeep hasn’t been sold before.

Warranty claims are very subjective, but Chrysler/Jeep is AWESOME about giving customers the benefit of the doubt. My brother has a 2002 Wrangler with 50k miles on it and a 2″ suspension lift. He sometimes changes his own oil, sometimes takes it to a shop, and he’s lousy about keeping receipts. He was driving on the interstate when his transfer case literally cracked in half. The rear driveshaft was gone, the internals of the rear differential grenaded, MAJOR damage. He brought it to a dealership for a repair estimate (no way he figured they’d cover it), and they said it’s covered. WOW! In less than a week he got his Jeep back, good as new!

So my suggestion is to get any maintenance records that the previous owner can provide, have the vehicle inspected (ideally by a Jeep dealership mechanic) that it is in good condition, then put all that in a file and that’s your “baseline” starting point. Keep your maintenance records and if you have any issues, you’ll be well taken care of.

The dealership would not be considered an “owner” as far as the warranty goes. You will want to verify this in writing with the dealership before you complete the purchase though.

Q: I want to buy a used Jeep Cherokee laredo. they seem abit cheap(less than $10,000) is it a good deal?
I am new to this country.I want to know if it is cheap to maintain, gas consumption and whether i will get value for money.. please advise.

A: They are not a fuel efficient, economical vehicle, averaging 14 city, 20 highway. The Laredo trim kit is just extra options that drive up the price, like power windows, etc. and not necessarily a great idea when they break down and require repair. A Sport model can do the same job for less money and require less maintenance on the luxury items.

You will get value for the money as they are no longer made and have depreciated in the used market. They are an excellent rough road/ off road vehicle, but not the best choice for urban commuting. Compared to much larger SUV’s, however, they do a good job.

Q: I am thinking about buying a used Jeep Wrangler. What color do you think I should get?
…and the hardtop?

A: a jeep, is a jeep, is a jeep, is a jeep. any color that you like. some look better to other people than other colors so if your the one buying it, your the only one that matters if you are happy or not. HAPPY JEEPIN! OIIIIIIIO

Q: How can I tell if a used 07 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo has 4 wheel drive?
I am looking to buy a used 07 model. The used car dealership claims it is 4 wheel drive, but I’m skeptical. How can I make sure?

A: Since it is a Cherokee, you may not have a transfer shifter to shift from 2H to 4wd, but it may have full time 4wd (meaning its always in 4wd). An easy way to know if it has 4wd is to look at the front differential and compare it to the rear differential. If they are the same size, then it is 4wd. Also, look for a transfer case underneath the vehicle.

Q: I’m sixteen and im looking for a decent used jeep cherokee. What would the price range be?

A: Good Choice, I have a ‘96 and I love it. These were made from ‘84 all the way to ‘02, so you have a wide range. After the ‘96 model year, they “redesigned” then, but really, they didn’t do much to them. People use this as an excuse to charge more for the ‘97-’02 models, so stay away from those. You’ll get ripped off. Also avoid the pre ‘87 cherokees b/c they used ancient carborator technology which is pretty much extinct today. A good ‘87-’96 cherokee will go anywhere from $1000 bucks to over $3000, it’s a very basic, plain vehicle. Unfortunatly, the $$ you will save on the initial cost of the car you will spend on gas, even the 4 cyls will never get over 20 mpg. So yeah, a stock, high mileage cherokee, probably $1000, if your going for the redneck look and you want a customized one with big tires, exhause, etc. it will run close to $3000-$4000.

If you prefer manuel, definatly go for it, the manuel transmissions are basiclly bulletproof, the autos have problems. If your planning on towing, go for the inline 6 engine, if not the 4 would do just fine. Good Luck!

Q: want to buy 1990 used jeep wrangler, question please help?
i would like to buy this car its a 1990 jeep wrangler but has 168k miles haha is that alot for a jeep wrangler engine? would it be a good idea to buy a jeep wrangler 1990 with 168k miles on it?

A: Why would it be expensive to insure? Or do you just want to spam the group to get hits on your website? I have a 1990 Jeep wrangler, it has > 180k miles and still runs strong. I drive < 7.5k miles per year, and the liability and medical coverage premium is about 1/3 the cost of my daily driver car. You will notice a big price jump between 1990 and older to 1991 and newer wranglers, though. That's because the 1990 and older jeeps are carburated, and are harder to keep running than the newer, fuel injected wranglers. Something to consider - mechanics who remember how to work on carbs are getting hard to find.

Q: I want to buy a used Jeep Wrangler. I have a budget between 10-13K. Any suggestions what I should get?
Manual vs Auto, what year, soft top or hard top, what options are important.

A: With that budget you should be able to get at least a 2001,get the straight 6 and the transmission is up to you.I have a Wrangler with the auto and one with a manual, when 4wheelin I like the auto best but the manual is fun to drive.I have soft tops on both because I like to be able to take the top off fast and put it back up fast, that option would depend on where you live.My Wrangler’s have never been broken into but I don’t take them somewhere that it is an open invitation.

Q: I’m looking to buy a used Jeep Wrangler.?

Q: I have a used 2006 Jeep Liberty that came with only one key. How can I get a copy made without going to a deal?
Our local WalMart says it can’t be copied because it has a chip in it.

A: A lot of locksmiths and hardware stores make chip keys nowadays, but it ain’t cheap… a replacement key for my Honda Civic at my local Ace Hardware store was, get this, $60 bucks!!

AND, I found out later that it would have been CHEAPER at the dealership!!

Good luck!… ☺
